Join our team as a Forklift Operator at Decks and Docks Company, where you will play a pivotal role in the success of our rapidly expanding company. This full-time position offers stability and provides a platform for career advancement. Seeking a candidate who will be keeping an orderly inventory within the yard, receiving daily inventory shipment, loading delivery trucks for daily shipments, and reporting any issues or discrepancies with material. This position requires working in an outdoor environment.Responsibilities- Load and unload lumber and building materials from delivery trucks and customer vehicles.- Organize and maintain inventory in the lumber yard, ensuring a clean and safe work environment.- Operate forklifts and other equipment safely to move materials (training provided if needed).- Assist customers in the yard by locating and loading materials efficiently.- Conduct regular inventory checks and report discrepancies to management.- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies in the yard.Qualifications-Industry Experience: Prior exposure to the lumber/building industry is highly valued.-Skill Set: Operate forklifts and other handling equipment in a warehouse and yard safely. The ideal candidate is a team player with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:Seeking a candidate who will manage and address customer needs, perform sales calls, secure new business, and grow current accounts consistently and effectively. This position requires having frequent contact with longstanding customers and contractors in person, by phone, and walk-ins. Other duties will include generating sales orders, invoicing sales tickets, and working with others at the location to ensure that customer orders are processed in BisTrack and delivered efficiently.Customer Service &amp; Sales<ul><li>Greet customers, assess their needs, and provide knowledgeable product recommendations.</li><li>Assist contractors and homeowners with decking material selection based on project requirements.</li><li>Prepare and provide accurate quotes, pricing, and product availability information.</li></ul>Order Processing<ul><li>Enter sales orders and special orders into the point‑of‑sale (POS) system.</li><li>Process returns, exchanges, and warranty claims in accordance with company policies.</li><li>Coordinate with warehouse and yard staff to ensure correct and timely order fulfillment.</li></ul>Product Knowledge<ul><li>Maintain an up‑to‑date understanding of decking materials, brands, building codes, and installation practices.</li><li>Learn new product lines, including composite decking, lumber types, railing systems, and accessories.</li><li>Assist customers with basic project information such as measurements, material estimates, and compatibility questions.</li></ul>Store Operations<ul><li>Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked counter area and showroom displays.</li><li>Answer phone calls and emails promptly and professionally.</li><li>Assist with inventory checks, labeling, pricing updates, and stocking when needed.</li><li>Collaborate with the sales team, warehouse staff, and management to ensure smooth store operations.</li><li>Assist contractors and homeowners with decking material selection based on project requirements.</li><li>Prepare and provide accurate quotes, pricing, and product availability information.</li></ul>Qualifications:Seeking a detail-oriented person that thrives when multi-tasking.
