Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Oral Surgery/Periodontal Surgery Assistant to join our dental team. The ideal candidate has dental assisting experience, preferably in oral surgery or periodontal procedures. This is a great opportunity to work closely with experienced surgeons while providing excellent patient care in a professional, fast-paced environment. The assistant will help support surgical procedures, ensure patient comfort, and maintain high standards of safety and infection control.Responsibilities<ul><li>Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and surgical materials for procedures.</li><li>Sterilize and maintain equipment according to infection control standards.</li><li>Monitor inventory of surgical supplies.</li><li>Assist the oral surgeon or periodontist during procedures by passing instruments, managing suction, and maintaining a clear working area.</li><li>Expose dental X-rays and 3D scans as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning.</li><li>Maintain accurate patient records in Open Dental while following HIPAA guidelines.</li><li>Monitor patient comfort and vital signs during procedures.</li><li>Provide patients with post-operative instructions and follow-up care information.</li><li>Work closely with the dental team and front desk to ensure smooth patient flow and scheduling.</li></ul>Skills &amp; Qualifications<ul><li>Experience in dental assisting, preferably chairside surgical assisting.</li><li>DAANCE is NOT required, however if after hire there is a desire to achieve this certification, the office will assist you.</li><li>Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and oral surgery/periodontal procedures.</li><li>Experience with dental imaging, including X-rays and 3D scanners.</li><li>Understanding of infection control and OSHA standards.</li><li>Strong communication and teamwork skills.</li><li>Ability to help patients feel comfortable and supported during treatment.</li></ul>We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a positive team environment&mdash;and who doesn&rsquo;t mind the occasional ice cream, popcorn, or pizza day!Pay: $28.00 - $39.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Bereavement leave</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Employee discount</li><li>Free parking</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>On-the-job training</li><li>Paid sick time</li><li>Paid training</li><li>Professional development assistance</li><li>Profit sharing</li><li>Safety equipment provided</li></ul>Work Location: In person
