Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Quality Landscape Installation
<ul><li>Accurately installs project according to plans and budget</li>
<li>Reviews, understands, and follows: blueprints, grading plans, irrigation plans, planting plans, construction drawings, proposals, and budgets</li>
<li>Establishes grades/levels using a laser or zip level</li>
<li>Consults with Project Manager(s), Construction Manager(s) and other stakeholders throughout project</li>
<li>Provides high-level, white-glove customer service.</li>
<li>Maintains a clean and tidy jobsite.</li>
</ul>
Quality Control
<ul><li>Inspects all assigned projects while analyzing and resolving problems. Escalates major problems to assigned Project Manager</li>
<li>Oversees production of assigned projects, ensuring each project is kept on schedule and on budget</li>
<li>Communicates project updates, progress, and issues to Project &amp; Construction Manager(s) promptly for each project</li>
<li>Visits worksites daily and meets with Foreman to capture project updates and assist with project when necessary</li>
<li>Assists with oversight of subcontractors to ensure quality of work and timely, accurate completion of projects</li>
<li>Works cohesively with Project Manager(s), Construction Manager(s) and other stakeholders to continually evaluate and improve procedures</li>
<li>Assists with material and equipment mobilization to job sites</li>
<li>Interfaces with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of job materials</li>
</ul>
Training, Development, and Safety
<ul><li>Identifies training needs for front line crew members</li>
<li>Ensures that all safety and DCPS standards are followed. Acts on and reports unsafe conditions promptly.</li>
<li>Evaluates employee safety data promoting safe work practices and conditions, ensuring employees attend weekly safety meetings</li>
<li>Conducts weekly truck and trailer inventories with assigned crews</li>
<li>Ensures equipment and tools are properly maintained.</li>
<li>Evaluates equipment utilization and recommends future equipment and tool purchases</li>
</ul>
Project and Crew Management
<ul><li>Manages front line crews ensuring adherence to budgets</li>
<li>Consults with Project Manager(s), Construction Manager(s) and other stakeholders to develop action plans
</li><li>Manages equipment utilization on projects, equipment storage, maintenance, and security</li>
<li>Ensures that all construction services are delivered according to contract specifications within budget and on schedule</li>
<li>Fosters and champions DCPS&rsquo;s Core Values on a daily basis</li>
<li>Actively participates in required weekly meetings and one on ones as needed
</li><li>Ensures job preparations are made for next day&rsquo;s work
</li><li>Provides performance feedback of assigned crews to Construction Manager(s)</li>
<li>Assists Construction Manager(s) with onsite coaching, evaluating, and training front line crews in landscape construction best practices
</li></ul>Time Management
<ul><li>Reports hours and project progress via designated channels</li>
<li>Maintains accurate and daily time keeping via timekeeping software</li>
<li>Accurately report timecards to internal stakeholders on a daily basis</li>
<li>Manages crew to ensure projects stay within assigned hours budget</li>
</ul>
Snow Crew
<ul><li>Maintains 24-hour on call status during snow season</li>
<li>Properly operates snow removal equipment</li>
<li>Plows, shovels, blows and apply ice melt in designated areas as assigned
</li></ul>Qualifications:
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Horticulture, Construction, or related field of study; 8 years of combined education and experience in lieu of degree</li>
<li>Able to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite (Create and edit documents in Word, write and respond to emails in Outlook, edit and update Excel worksheets)</li>
<li>Familiarity with construction software and job packs (Enter and review timecards, production reporting, forecasting, manage subcontractors and materials)</li>
<li>Able to read, write, and speak English</li>
<li>Able to understand and speak Spanish (preferred)</li>
<li>Able to read and interpret construction plans, job packs, and verbal instructions</li>
<li>OSHA 10 preferred</li>
</ul>
Able to perform all aspects of landscape, hardscape, and irrigation construction
<h2 class="jobSectionHeader">Minimum Physical Requirements</h2>
<ul><li>Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8&ndash;10 hours per day).</li>
<li>Ability to climb ladders and access elevated work areas, including rooftops at heights of 20+ feet.</li>
<li>Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.</li>
<li>Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch as needed to inspect work and assist crews.</li>
<li>Ability to maintain balance and stability while working on sloped or uneven surfaces.</li>
<li>Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and precipitation.</li>
<li>Ability to use hands and arms for handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials and equipment.</li>
<li>Sufficient visual acuity to inspect roofing systems, identify defects, and read plans or documents.</li>
<li>Ability to hear and communicate effectively in a noisy construction environment.</li>
<li>Ability to wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE), including fall protection gear.</li>
