This is a temporary assignment and will not exceed 6 months or 1,040 hours worked. It does not include the typical benefits available for employees. However, temporary employees may be eligible for employee health benefits offered through the Public Employees Benefit Board (PEBB) as outlined in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.</div><div></div><div>
This will be a part-time <div>mobile work</div> position and will function in a &ldquo;work from home&rdquo; environment, located in Curry County. Please note the job posting displays the full-time salary amount. This is a part-time position, and the salary will be prorated based on a part-time work schedule.</div><div></div><div><i>

The <div>Department of Consumer and Business Services</div> (DCBS) is a progressive business regulatory state agency dedicated to the mission of protecting and serving Oregon's consumers and workers while supporting a positive business climate. The department administers state laws and rules governing workers' compensation, occupational safety and health, financial institutions, insurance companies and building codes. The department has consumer protection and education programs, offices, and ombuds to help consumers, injured workers, and businesses.</div><div></div><div>
This temporary position is with the <div>Building Codes Division</div> (BCD). BCD adopts and enforces the statewide building code relating to the construction, reconstruction, alteration and repair of buildings and other structures and the installation of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical devices and equipment.</div><div></div><div>
Here&rsquo;s what you will do:</div><div></div><div>
As an Electrical Inspector, Commercial &amp; Residential, you will:</div><ul><li><div>
Perform plan review and inspections in a safe manner, all types of buildings and structures during construction for compliance with applicable codes, laws, rules, and regulations</div></li><li><div>
Enforce the National Electrical Code and applicable state code through inspection of all types of buildings</div></li><li><div>
Communicate code requirements to the public, contractors, and local officials</div></li><li><div>
Investigate cases of non-compliance and report appropriately</div></li></ul><div></div><div>

Possession of all of the following:</div><ul><li><div>
Oregon Inspector Certification (OIC)</div></li><li><div>
Oregon Commercial Electrical Inspector Certification</div></li><li><div>
Oregon Residential Electrical Inspector Certification</div></li></ul><div></div><div>
Note: Successful candidate must obtain the required certifications within 60 days of hire.</div><div></div><div>
