<div><div><div>The New York City Department of Correction (DOC) is an integral part of the City&rsquo;s evolving criminal justice system, participating in reform initiatives and strategies aimed to move the city towards a smaller jail system without compromising public safety. The DOC is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our employees, visitors, volunteers, and people in our custody. Importantly, safe jails enable DOC to provide people in custody with the tools and opportunities they need to successfully re-enter their communities. The DOC operates facilities and court commands across the five boroughs with more than 7,500 diverse professionals and knowledgeable experts.<br>

The DOC seeks to recruit 2 Dietitians whose task will include but are not limited to the following:<br>

<ul><li>Responsible for the nutritional care of inmates and monitors the outcome with nutrition intervention.</li><li>Instructing Food Service production staff concerning the preparation of meals using standardized
</li></ul>recipes and master menus.<br>
<ul><li>Participating in menu planning and recipe testing.</li><li>Consulting with medical staff concerning appropriate diets to meet the nutritional needs of inmates.</li><li>Inspecting assigned food service for compliance with accepted standards and departmental policies
</li></ul>related to food preparation, portion control and tray services.
<br>
<ul><li>Performing Nutritional Assessment.</li><li>Interviewing inmates to obtain history of food habits.
</li><li>Interpreting laboratory data in medical record.</li><li>Preparing Nutrition Care Plan.</li><li>Providing nutritional counseling to inmates on prescribed diets.</li><li>Preparing progress notes as indicated.</li><li>Maintaining records and writing reports.</li><li>Assisting with preparation of nutritional analysis of general and therapeutic diet.</li></ul><br>
To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level II, individuals must have, after meeting the minimum requirements, either one year served at Assignment Level I or one additional year of the experience described in &quot;1&quot; above.<br>

The New York City Department of Correction is seeking to recruit a Senior Policy Advisor to the Chief of Staff. Reporting directly to the Chief of Staff (COS) and exercising wide latitude for independent judgment and initiative, the Senior Policy Advisor will provide centralized expertise and strategic counsel on policy issues, working closely with the Public Information, Legislative Affairs and Labor Relations teams to align agency policy with internal and external messaging. The Senior Policy Advisor will be a critical member of the team, ensuring that the Commissioner&rsquo;s vision and mission are realized.

The Senior Policy Advisor will support the planning, coordination, and execution of high-priority initiatives across these divisions, helping to ensure that operational and programmatic goals, strategic priorities, and executive directives are advanced and communicated in an efficient and timely manner. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) tracking project plans, timelines, and deliverables; assembling and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data; preparing executive-level presentations, briefing memoranda, reports, and correspondence; and developing recommendations to improve agency performance, operational effectiveness, and resource management. The position will also monitor the status of critical projects, identify operational risks or barriers to implementation, and recommend corrective actions to executive leadership.

The Senior Policy Advisor will regularly engage with senior staff across DOC, partner agencies, oversight entities, and external stakeholders to gather information, resolve issues, and support strategic initiatives. The incumbent may represent the COS in internal and external meetings, serve as a proxy on designated matters, and coordinate special assignments of significant importance to the Department.

The DOC seeks to recruit a Senior Advisor to the First Deputy Commissioner (FDC) to support the implementation of the Commissioner&rsquo;s People First agenda moving DOC into the future. Reporting to the FDC, the Senior Advisor will support the internal management of work across four workstreams critical to the Department&rsquo;s future success; the evolution of the agency&rsquo;s organizational culture to meaningfully support staff and people in the Department&rsquo;s care; the design and building of the four borough based jails; the operational transition to the borough-based jails, strategies to achieve public safety through support of people in custody. This person will manage and track priorities, driving progress and troubleshoot issues as they arise. The Senior Advisor will be a critical thought partner to the FDC and senior leadership and will use strategic thinking, strong project management and collaboration skills to ensure that initiatives are effectively implemented. The Senior Advisor will liaise with other agencies, internal and external stakeholders, and community organizations to develop new policies in line with ongoing transformation efforts; and be empowered to serve as proxy for the FDC as appropriate.<br>

The Senior Advisor will routinely advise the First Deputy Commissioner on policy matters, the status of high priority projects, and assist in the coordination of direct reports to the FDC including Policy and Strategy, Management Analysis and Planning, Training and Development, Quality Assurance and Compliance, Programs, and the Nunez Consent Judgement. The Personnel Division seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Records Management Intern to assist in the effective management of departmental records. This position provides a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in records management while supporting various administrative tasks that are essential for the smooth operation of the agency.<br>

<ul><li>Assist with supporting the records management unit and procedures across all agency departments and correctional facilities.</li><li>Process a variety of legal documents and maintain agency records in compliance with established protocols.</li><li>Collaborate in the implementation of a forthcoming enterprise content management system for agency records.</li><li>Provide customer service support to agency business units related to file and document inventories and assist in creating and implementing records retention schedules.</li><li>Reference and release files in response to departmental requests, adhering to established procedures.</li><li>Help in rolling out procedures for implementing records management programs, including document imaging and physical records storage.</li><li>Assist in maintaining records management methods and practices, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.</li><li>Under supervision, perform clerical and technical tasks related to organizing, coordinating, and monitoring the filing of records.</li><li>Take on additional duties as assigned to support the Records Management Unit&rsquo;s objectives.</li></ul><br>

The Department is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and results-driven leader to serve as Deputy Commissioner (DC) who will oversee the implementation of critical aspects of the Department&rsquo;s transformation agenda. This portfolio of work includes leading broader organizational change work, bringing the borough-based jails (BBJ) and remaining outposted therapeutic units online, transition planning for the Department&rsquo;s move into the BBJs, updating the Department&rsquo;s policies and directives, and overseeing project management and innovation across the agency. The DC will design and oversee strategic initiatives involving all aspects of DOC&rsquo;s delivery of care and support of staff as the agency enters its next chapter. Reporting to the First Deputy Commissioner (FDC), the Deputy Commissioner will be a critical thought partner to the executive team.

The Deputy Commissioner will oversee the day-to-day work to affect broad organizational change. This work, in close partnership with executive leadership and external support, will transform the working and living environment in the Department of Correction, replacing a culture of stagnation and punishment with one grounded in learning, mutual respect, dignity, and health, while creating meaningful opportunities for staff and incarcerated people to grow and actively shape their environment. To start, this work will include the development of an organizational change strategy and critical recruitment and retention strategies.

The Deputy Commissioner will be tasked with ensuring the plans and designs for the borough-based jails meet the operational needs of the Department. In addition, they will ensure that DOC feedback is in line with the Commissioner&rsquo;s vision for the facilities and broader criminal justice reform; and work with DDC to develop and implement construction management plans to ensure appropriate DOC oversight during the Design/Build process. In addition, the DC will work in close collaboration with the Department of Design and Construction, Office of the Mayor, Mayor&rsquo;s Office of Criminal Justice, Mayor&rsquo;s Office of Management and Budget, State Commission on Correction, as well as advocacy groups and working groups.<br>

The Deputy Commissioner will also supervise the strategic revising and development of general policies impacting the DOC's planning initiatives in support of the move to the borough based jails and to reach and sustain compliance with all consent decrees, advise on critical DOC reform policies in alignment with vision, mission, and best practice; and conduct routine and extraordinary testing of the efficacy of executed policies and initiatives. With a longer-term strategic focus, the Deputy Commissioner will, in partnership with the Deputy Commissioner for Management, Analysis, and Planning, create, refine and promote strategies and policies using all analytical tools available across the agency; coordinate targeted data and policy analyses; design and streamline operational practices and regulatory procedures; and interface with and convene key internal and external stakeholders on a wide range of strategic and policy issues.

In addition, the Deputy Commissioner will provide leadership and management for the Project Management Office (PMO) who works with leaders from across the agency and the City to identify and define high-priority, innovative initiatives, lead projects that advance key policy goals, and conduct internal engagements that refine the agency&rsquo;s operations and programs. The PMO is involved in the creation of key DOC initiatives and policies, advising on feasibility and implementation strategy, and the ongoing maintenance of various projects to ensure timely milestone delivery and project completion.<br>
