Job Description and Duties
 
Under the general direction of the Supervisor I of the Disability Unit within the Disability Management Section (DMS), the Analyst III serves as the CDSS' Disability Coordinator (DC). The Analyst III will perform highly technical, consultative and complex analytical duties and will provide executives, managers, and supervisors with advice and direction in matters relating to Reasonable Accommodation (RA), Lactation Accommodation (LA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and Workers' Compensation (WC). The DC is responsible for processing requests/claims, interacting with employees regarding medical restrictions, medical leave, and applying all applicable Federal/State Laws.

Working Conditions
 
This work location is very convenient! The CDSS is located two blocks from the light rail and public transportation: within walking distance to the State Capitol, parks, restaurants, farmer’s markets and the Golden 1 Arena. Our building has easy access to I-5, Highway 50, and Highway 80.
 
This position is eligible for hybrid work in accordance with the Governor’s Executive Order N-22-25 and at the sole discretion of the Department of Social Services under California Government Code Section 14200. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be re-evaluated at any time. The incumbent will be expected to report for in office work and attend work related in-person events as deemed operationally necessary. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the CDSS policies. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Describe your analytical approach, your role in advising management, the challenges encountered, how you formulated recommendations ensuring compliance, and the resulting impact on program effectiveness, risk mitigation, stakeholder satisfaction, or organizational objectives.

Job Description and Duties

We are seeking a candidate who enjoys learning, providing exceptional customer service, and is passionate about assisting Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) operators with learning about procurement policy and regulations as it relates to local, state, and federal procurement guidance.
 
Please note: Candidates living outside a 50-mile radius from headquarters are not eligible for an exception to telework requirements. Regular commute is not compensable.

Working Conditions
 
This work location is very convenient! The CDSS is located two blocks from the light rail and public transportation: within walking distance of the State Capitol, parks, restaurants, farmers’ markets and the Golden 1 Arena. Our building has easy access to I-5, Highway 50, and Highway 80.
 
This position is eligible for hybrid work in accordance with the Governor’s Executive Order N-22-25 and at the sole discretion of the Department of Social Services under California Government Code Section 14200. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be re-evaluated at any time. The incumbent will be expected to report for in office work and attend work related in-person events as deemed operationally necessary. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the CDSS policies. For positions advertised in more than one location, headquarter location may be designated on the selected candidate's primary residence location, and/or the closest CDSS location in accordance with operational need and available space. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a federal and state-funded program that provides reimbursements for nutritious meals and snacks to eligible children and adults who are enrolled for care at participating child care centers, day care homes, and adult day care centers. CACFP also provides reimbursements for meals served to children and youth participating in afterschool care programs, children residing in emergency shelters, and adults over the age of 60 or living with a disability and enrolled in daycare facilities. CACFP contributes to the wellness, healthy growth, and development of young children and adults in the United States.
 
Under the general direction of the Program Administration Bureau Chief, the Program Operations and Policy Section of the CACFP Branch provides direction and leadership for the program administration and support teams for the CACFP. These groups are charged with supporting CACFP participants' successful operation of the CACFP, and developing and implementing statewide program policies.
