<p>Under the direction of the Supervisor I of the Training Unit, under the Integrity, Training, and County Support Bureau, Program Quality and improvement Branch (PQIB), the incumbent's primary responsibility is to support the training initiatives of the Branch. The incumbent will be tasked with ensuring the clear and consistent delivery of new concepts, emergent trends and topics requiring further clarification to a wide range of child care providers. The incumbent will provide the necessary knowledge and guidance to enable effective implementation and travel statewide to provide these training services. The incumbent must have the ability to effectively communicate complex information, adapt training approaches to diverse audiences, and stay abreast of the latest developments in the field.<br>

Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Supervisor I of the Disability Unit within the Disability Management Section (DMS), the Analyst III serves as the CDSS' Disability Coordinator (DC). The Analyst III will perform highly technical, consultative and complex analytical duties and will provide executives, managers, and supervisors with advice and direction in matters relating to Reasonable Accommodation (RA), Lactation Accommodation (LA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and Workers' Compensation (WC). The DC is responsible for processing requests/claims, interacting with employees regarding medical restrictions, medical leave, and applying all applicable Federal/State Laws.

The mission of the California Department of Social Services is to serve, aid, and protect needy and vulnerable children and adults in ways that strengthen and preserve families, encourage personal responsibility, and foster independence. The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a federal and state-funded program that provides reimbursements for nutritious meals and snacks to eligible children and adults who are enrolled for care at participating child care centers, day care homes, and adult day care centers. CACFP also provides reimbursements for meals served to children and youth participating in afterschool care programs, children residing in emergency shelters, and adults over the age of 60 or living with a disability and enrolled in daycare facilities. CACFP contributes to the wellness, healthy growth, and development of young children and adults in the United States.

Under the general direction of the Program Administration Bureau Chief, the Program Operations and Policy Section of the CACFP Branch provides direction and leadership for the program administration and support teams for the CACFP. These groups are charged with supporting CACFP participants' successful operation of the CACFP, and developing and implementing statewide program policies.
