Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Tow Truck Dispatcher to join our transportation operations team. In this vital role, you will coordinate the efficient dispatching of tow trucks to assist stranded motorists, recover vehicles, and support fleet management activities. Your proactive communication skills and technical expertise will ensure timely responses, optimal resource allocation, and exceptional customer service. This position offers an energetic environment where your analysis skills and familiarity with transportation management systems will drive operational success and customer satisfaction.Duties<ul><li>Receive incoming service requests via multi-line phone systems, online platforms, and radio communications with professionalism and clarity.</li><li>Utilize GPS, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), and transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine to determine the most efficient dispatch routes.</li><li>Coordinate with tow truck drivers, fleet management teams, and third-party logistics providers (3PL) to allocate resources effectively across various locations.</li><li>Track vehicle locations using GPS technology to monitor progress, provide real-time updates, and adjust dispatch plans as needed.</li><li>Maintain accurate data entry of all dispatch activities, service logs, and incident reports within AS400 or similar systems for seamless record keeping.</li><li>Communicate clearly with customers, drivers, and internal teams using phone etiquette and effective communication skills to ensure expectations are met or exceeded.</li><li>Support shipping &amp; receiving operations by coordinating freight movement, vehicle recovery, and related logistics tasks in compliance with safety standards.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Proven experience in dispatching within transportation management or logistics environments; familiarity with freight operations is a plus.</li><li>Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret GIS data, GPS tracking information, and transportation planning tools.</li><li>Proficiency in transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine; experience with AS400 is advantageous.</li><li>Excellent communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette for handling multi-line phone systems confidently.</li><li>Ability to perform data entry accurately under pressure while managing multiple priorities simultaneously.</li><li>Knowledge of fleet management practices, shipping &amp; receiving procedures, and 3PL coordination.</li><li>Technical aptitude with familiarity in logistics software like Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Supply Chain software, and related analysis tools.
