The Information Technology Department supports the organization&rsquo;s technology needs and provides leadership for future solutions. Deschutes County IT manages systems and infrastructure, and provides stable, secure, and reliable technical support services to County staff and clients. The department includes 22 employees and partners with other technical staff throughout the County. The department is dedicated to enhancing security, efficiency, and productivity and provides everything from phone support to application integration.<br>

<b>ABOUT THE JOB:</b></p><div>
Deschutes County is seeking an Endpoint Administrator to help manage, maintain, and secure the County&rsquo;s endpoint environment&mdash;desktops, laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, and IoT devices&mdash;across multiple departments and locations. Working under general supervision, this role supports device configuration, deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure endpoints remain reliable, compliant, and secure in alignment with enterprise IT standards.</div><div>
The successful candidate will assist with centralized endpoint management platforms (such as Microsoft Intune), support Active Directory and Entra AD (Azure AD) basics for endpoint administration, help implement and troubleshoot endpoint security controls (patching, antivirus, configuration standards), and provide customer-focused technical support and user training. This position also contributes to documentation, audits/assessments, and may participate in business continuity/disaster recovery activities.</div><div></div><div><br>
Schedule Note: This position may require occasional after-hours work, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs for critical issues, maintenance windows, or emergencies.</div><p>
This position is located in Deschutes County and may be eligible for hybrid of in-office/remote work as allowed by policy and approved by the supervisor.</p><b>
Key Responsibilities:</b><ul><li><div><b>
Endpoint lifecycle support</b>: Assist with deploying, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting desktops, laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, and IoT devices to meet County standards.</div></li><li><div><b>
Centralized endpoint management administration: </b>Support and optimize enterprise tools such as Microsoft Intune, including software deployment and update/patch management.</div></li><li><div><b>
Endpoint security and compliance</b>: Help implement and troubleshoot endpoint security controls (e.g., security settings, antivirus/EDR, patching), and perform basic audits/assessments to maintain performance, security, and compliance.</div></li></ul><b>
What You Will Bring:</b><br>
Knowledge of or experience with:<ul><li><b>
Endpoint management fundamentals:</b> Core concepts for managing desktops, laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, and IoT endpoints across an enterprise environment.</li><li><b>
Directory services basics:</b> Working knowledge of Active Directory and Entra AD (Azure AD) as they relate to endpoint identity, access, and device management.</li><li><b>
Networking fundamentals:</b> Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols used to support endpoint connectivity and troubleshooting.</li></ul>
Skill in:<ul><li><b>
Endpoint management tool administration</b>: Ability to perform basic configuration and ongoing support in platforms like Microsoft Intune.</li><li><b>
Technical troubleshooting:</b> Skill in diagnosing and resolving endpoint and user-impacting issues across multiple operating systems (Windows/macOS/iOS/Android/Linux).</li><li><b>

Preferred Qualifications:</b><ul><li>
Experience with Intune.</li><li>
Experience with Windows Autopilot and Group Policy.</li><li>
Endpoint security experience (patching, hardening, antivirus/EDR).</li><li>

We operate Knott Landfill in Bend and four rural transfer stations where residents, contractors, and haulers bring materials for consolidation and transport to Knott Landfill. ABOUT THE JOB:</b><br>
This position has key responsibilities for maintaining regulatory compliance and implementation of capital projects for Deschutes County&rsquo;s Knott Landfill and other solid waste management system facilities. You will have opportunities to implement challenging and innovative programs and projects to advance solid waste management and waste reduction programs for Deschutes County and to contribute to what is considered one of the best landfill operations in the State of Oregon.<br>

Ensuring all permit and compliance programs meet or exceed regulatory requirements.</li><li>
Develop and implement engineering, design and compliance services with professional consulting firms.</li><li>

Develop RFPs and execute contracts for maintenance services.</li><li>
Manage the Solid Waste Departments Hazardous Waste Program.</li></ul><b>
