Project SummaryThis position is for a financial analyst or staff accountant position within a Federal entity where the contractor team is integrated into the client&rsquo;s business area. The analyst will be part of a team contributing to a host of tasks including financial management and analysis, grantee outreach, business process re-engineering, reporting and analytics and customer service.Job SummaryThe ideal candidate should have experience with finance, accounting or analytics. The employee&rsquo;s role includes project management competencies such as preparing and reviewing deliverables, monitoring of the project, scheduling key meetings, and ensuring quality standards are met. The ideal candidate should feel comfortable interacting with the client in a professional manner on a continuous basis since the employee will be performing work on client site 5 days per week.There is a lot of room for growth and professional development within the client program and role. The financial analyst supports the team&rsquo;s efforts within the finance workstreams. He/She will perform a range of staff accounting functions in support of the client program, including:<ul><li>Taking ownership of a grant portfolio conducting daily grants management financial analysis, compliance, outreach and reporting;</li><li>Perform financial analysis to determine discrepancies and escalate compliance issues for further monitoring;</li><li>Participating in bi-monthly closeout of grants;</li><li>Flagging high risk grant closeouts for further escalation of monitoring;</li><li>Conduct grantee outreach to provide training and technical assistance;</li><li>Tracking of disbursements of grant funds proactively to avoid improper payments;</li><li>Requirements gathering and user acceptance testing of key tools and applications;</li><li>Supporting grant obligations reporting during the Federal end-of-year process;</li><li>Providing insights into grantee pain points to continuously improve on grants management processes, data and reporting;</li><li>Ad hoc portfolio data reporting, as requested.</li></ul>The employee&rsquo;s role includes project management competencies such as preparing and reviewing deliverables, monitoring of the project, participating in key meetings, and ensuring quality standards are met.Responsibilities <ul><li>0-3 or more years professional experience in similar field</li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (oral and written)</li><li>Strong organizational skills with a high focus on detail and accuracy</li><li>Ability to research and analyze, problem solve and offer insights and recommendations.</li><li>Experience using Excel spreadsheets (required)</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with the client and other team members (Team chemistry is of great importance)</li><li>Experience preparing short briefing documents (spreadsheets, talking points, process flows, standard operating procedures, PowerPoint slides, etc.)</li><li>Advanced client management and customer service skills with an ability to provide exemplary training and technical assistance to the client, as required, and their customers on a daily basis</li></ul>Education/Training<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree (finance, economics, business, mathematics or accounting)</li></ul>Preferred<ul><li>Previous experience in Federal, state, tribal or local grants management</li><li>Training in Federal grants management, specifically the Uniform Code of Federal Regulations, Part 200 U.S. Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards</li></ul>Key Words<ul><li>Federal Financial Management</li><li>Grants Management</li><li>Financial Analysis</li><li>MS Excel</li><li>Data Management/Analytics</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $60,000.00 - $68,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Employee assistance program</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Health savings account</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Parental leave</li><li>Professional development assistance</li><li>Referral program</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
