Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 
 
Position Summary 
Responsible for activities related to outsourced nutraceutical manufacturing, supporting approximately $20 million in annual Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) spend.
 
 
This role partners cross-functionally with Planning, Production, Quality Assurance (QA), and Supplier Management to ensure reliable supply, regulatory compliance, cost competitiveness, and strong supplier performance. 
 
The ideal candidate has a fundamental understanding of Contract Manufacturing process as it relates to tablets, softgels, and finished nutraceutical products. As well as a strong understanding of cGMP environments, supplier qualification, and production planning. 
 
Responsibilities 
 
Procurement &amp; Buying<ul><li>
Manage day-to-day, time sensitive activities for outsourced finished goods, including tablets, softgels, and related nutraceutical products.</li><li>
Issue and manage purchase orders in alignment with demand plans, production schedules, and inventory targets.</li><li>
Ensure timely delivery of materials and finished goods while balancing cost, quality, and service.</li></ul> 

Contract Manufacturing &amp; Supplier Management<ul><li>
Support management of a $20M CMO portfolio, working closely with the Manager, Contract Manufacturing on sourcing strategy and supplier performance.</li><li>
Coordinate with CMOs to align capacity, lead times, forecasts, and production plans.</li><li>
Monitor supplier performance metrics including OTIF, quality, responsiveness, and cost adherence.</li><li>
Support supplier qualification, onboarding, and periodic reviews in collaboration with QA.</li></ul> 

Cross-Functional Collaboration<ul><li>
Partner with Planning to translate forecasts into executable purchase plans provide manufacturing execution updates and problem resolutions</li><li>
Work with Production and Operations to resolve supply constraints, expedite orders, and manage changes.</li><li>
Collaborate with Quality Assurance by collecting, organizing, and tracking required documentation to facilitate supplier compliance with cGMP and regulatory requirements. Participate in cross-functional meetings to support product launches, line extensions, and formulation changes.</li><li>
Escalate delays, gaps, or execution issues to the manager as soon as identified.

Strategic Sourcing Support<ul><li>
Assist with supplier selection, RFQs/RFPs, cost modeling, and negotiations.</li><li>
Identify cost-reduction, value-engineering, and risk-mitigation opportunities.</li><li>
Support contract development, pricing agreements, and change management initiatives.</li></ul> 

Compliance &amp; Documentation<ul><li>
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.</li><li>
Maintain accurate purchasing, supplier, and contract documentation.</li><li>
Support audits (internal, customer, regulatory) as needed.</li></ul> 
 
Qualifications &amp; Experience 
 
Required<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field.</li><li>
5+ years of procurement or manufacturing experience, preferably in nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, food, or CPG.</li><li>
Experience working with contract manufacturers (CMOs/CDMOs).</li><li>
Familiarity with tablets, softgels, and finished nutraceutical dosage forms.</li><li>
Strong understanding of cGMP environments and quality requirements.</li><li>
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.</li></ul> 

Preferred<ul><li>
Experience managing $10M+ annual spend.</li><li>
Exposure to supplier audits, qualification, or quality agreements.</li><li>
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (FDA, cGMP, NSF, USP).</li><li>
APICS, CPSM, or similar certification.</li></ul>

This is largely a sedentary role; however, the duties require the use of the hands to type and the ability to communicate, requires the ability to move about, some duties may occasionally require the ability to lift to 25lbs.
