Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Purchasing Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing purchasing strategies that meet Devon Industries&rsquo; business goals and requirements, including cost reduction, quality assurance, and timely delivery of goods and services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in purchasing within the automotive or manufacturing sectors, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven track record of enhancing supply chain efficiency. 
 
 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 
 
<ul><li>Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies for materials, equipment, and services, focusing on cost-effectiveness, quality improvement, and supply chain reliability.</li><li>Manage supplier relations, including selection, contract negotiation, performance evaluation, and long-term partnership development.</li><li>Coordinate with production, engineering, and sales departments to forecast demand and ensure timely procurement of essential materials and components.</li><li>Implement and maintain procurement policies and procedures to align with industry best practices and regulatory compliance.</li><li>Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and procurement metrics to optimize purchasing decisions and strategies.</li><li>Lead cost reduction initiatives through vendor negotiations, value analysis, and supply chain optimization.</li><li>Oversee and lead the purchasing team, providing guidance and training to ensure professional development and high performance.</li><li>Manage inventory levels and strategies to balance operational efficiency with cost control.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams on new product development projects, ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials.</li><li>Ensure sustainability and ethical practices are considered in all purchasing decisions.</li></ul>
 
REQUIREMENTS: 
 
<ul><li>Minimum of 2 years of experience in an purchasing or procurement role within the automotive or manufacturing industry.</li><li>Proven track record of successful supplier management and negotiation.</li><li>Strong understanding of the automotive supply chain and manufacturing processes.</li><li>Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.</li><li>Proficient in purchasing and inventory management software systems.</li><li>Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to manage and motivate a team.</li><li>Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.</li><li>Commitment to ethical business practices and sustainability.</li></ul>
