 In this Road Freight OPS Team Leader position
 
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Ensure policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers and stakeholders
 </li>
 <li>
 Setting day-to-day operational objectives for team
 </li>
 <li>
 Problems faced may be difficult but typically are not complex
 </li>
 <li>
 Coordinate plans and processes for transport operations
 </li>
 <li>
 Coach and guide the team for execution of day-to-day tasks and activities to meet work schedules and targets
 </li>
 <li>
 Execute transport activities including safe operations of machines and equipment, and warehouse and distribution activities such as receive, handle, store, record and dispatch goods
 </li>
 <li>
 Draft route plans and load schedules, maximize consolidation levels in to service area, choose appropriate transportation, modify and communicate plans as per scheduling changes
 </li>
 <li>
 Closely follow up for critical material transportation and special deliveries, and establish emergency plans and coordinate customs processes, if required
 </li>
 <li>
 Define and record resources and movements on the transport planning system
 </li>
 <li>
 Track performance of the subcontractors against set standards
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage the carrier network for specific traffic region and achieve consistency of carrier service with defined standards and compliance with pallet and claim policies
 </li>
 <li>
 Track delivery exceptions from the carriers and report back to principal and/ or customer service team
 </li>
 <li>
 Examine and resolve customer service issues and exceptions, and prepare, process and distribute required customer reports accurately and on time
 </li>
 <li>
 Participate in development and completion of transportation and traffic project activities such as transportation service analysis and consolidation studies
 </li>
 <li>
 Achieve adherence to operating, environmental and safety procedures and standards through training and communication
 </li>
 <li>
 Report financial, operational and customer information to improve overall network performance and cost management
 </li>
 <li>
 Highlight issues and opportunities, and execute better transport operations methods and techniques focusing on increasing effectiveness and efficiency, and controlling costs

 Roles &amp; Responsibilities:

 Handle customer &amp; network enquiries in Import/Export.
 </li>
 <li>
 Accepting all Import/Export booking orders (from customer or overseas office) and ensure timely executions by the team and network offices.

 <li>
 Review work assignments and manage team availability proactively.
 </li>
 <li>
 Identify and train the low performers.
 </li>
 <li>
 Act as key contact for all customers &ndash; Own the customer, Quality, Gross Profit.

 Proactively inform customers on shipment status, exceptions and provides intermediate updates on incident solution, creating a culture of exceptional customer services in Import &amp; Export.

 Ensuring and improving minimum email response time by the team.

 Ensuring a healthy and potential business relation with carriers, shippers, consignees and all vendors.

 Taking and handling any customer complaints/feedback; solving customer complaints or assigning tasks to other functions/teammates.

 Ensuring effective month end closing with regards to Accruals/WIP, Intercompany Billing, Vendor&rsquo;s costs etc.

 Ensuring all financial KPIs are being respected by the team in light of SOP.
 </li>
 <li>
 Verifying CASS and non-CASS carrier billing and follow up closely with airlines if there is any airlines dispute till credit note received.
 </li>
 <li>
 Resolve billing disputes with carriers, customers and network offices and identify gaps for future avoidance which help companies with cost avoidance.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensuring that fortnight payments to carriers are being made timely and with no hurdles/discrepancies.

 </ul>
 
 Skills, Qualifications &amp; Experience:
 
 
 
 
 <ul>

 Minimum 3-4 years of relevant working experience at an established &amp; compliant freight forwarding company.
 </li>
 <li>
 Minimum bachelor&rsquo;s or master's degree preferably in related field from reputable institution.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strategic thinker with analytical skills, high achievement drive and ability of taking initiative.
 </li>
 <li>
 Must have good management, interpersonal and communication skills &amp; high level of tolerance.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong command over Microsoft Office and other related software.
