We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist &amp; Payroll Specialist to join our Diamond Buick GMC dealership team in Alexandria, Minnesota.

Position Summary: 
The Human Resources Generalist &amp; Payroll Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive HR support while managing all aspects of payroll administration. This role serves as a primary point of contact for employees and managers, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a positive employee experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable managing both routine and complex HR tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources
<ul>
<li>Serve as the first point of contact for HR inquiries, providing guidance on policies, procedures, and programs.</li>
<li>Support full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, applicant screening, interviewing coordination, and on-boarding.</li>
<li>Facilitate new-hire orientation and ensure timely completion of all on-boarding documents.</li>
<li>Maintain employee files, HRIS data integrity, and confidential records in compliance with federal and state regulations.</li>
<li>Assist in the administration of benefits, including enrollments, changes, open enrollment, and employee communications.</li>
<li>Support employee relations by helping address concerns, conducting fact-finding, and escalating issues as appropriate.</li>
<li>Assist in performance management processes, including review cycles, goal tracking, and documentation.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with HR-related federal, state, and local laws (FMLA, ADA, Wage &amp; Hour, paid leave laws, etc.).</li>
<li>Process Workman Compensation claims and manage questions and OSHA reports.</li>
<li>Coordinate training sessions, compliance initiatives, and employee engagement activities.</li>
<li>Support policy development, updates, and implementation.</li>
</ul>
Payroll
<ul>
<li>Process semi-monthly payroll accurately and on schedule for all employees.</li>
<li>Verify time sheets, hours worked, PTO usage, and other payroll inputs.</li>
<li>Maintain payroll records and ensure proper documentation for audits and compliance checks.</li>
<li>Review and audit payroll reports to ensure accuracy in wages, taxes, deductions, and employer contributions.</li>
<li>Assist with year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation and reporting.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and tax regulations.</li>
<li>Coordinate with finance/accounting on payroll-related reporting, GL coding, and reconciliations.</li>
<li>Manage payroll changes such as pay rate adjustments, status changes, garnishments, and benefits deductions.</li></ul>

Qualifications &amp; Benefits
<ul>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.</li>
<li>3-5 years of HR Generalist or HR Coordinator experience; payroll experience strongly preferred.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of HR laws, payroll regulations, and best practices.</li>
<li>Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems.</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.</li>
<li>Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.</li>
<li>Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.</li>
<li>High level of confidentiality and professionalism.</li>
<li>32-40 hours a week.</li>
<li>$25.00 to $30.00 per hour based on qualifications.</li>
<li>This is not a remote position.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>
