<div>988 Chat &amp; Text Counselor (Olympic Suicide Prevention Center)

This is a fully remote position. The pay for this position is $24.00 per hour with a $3.00 overnight differential.

The schedule is Wednesday-Sunday from 10:00am-2:00pm PST, totaling 20 hours per week.

This role requires a three-week 40-hour per week training at the start of employment.

Our work schedules are subject to change as necessary to meet the Agency&rsquo;s and its client's needs. Reasonable notice is provided to facilitate personal planning.

Summary

As a Chat &amp; Text Counselor, you will provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and resources to help-seekers through Crisis Chat and Text services. Operating in a fully remote capacity with an option to work on-site, you will play a critical role in delivering compassionate and effective support during moments of crisis. This position emphasizes maintaining high-quality standards in all interactions to ensure help-seekers receive the best possible care and guidance. By actively listening, assessing needs, and providing appropriate resources, you will make a meaningful impact on individuals seeking assistance.

Primary Duties
<ul>
<li>Offers crisis-counseling services via chat and text.</li>
<li>Completes risk assessment, safety planning, de-escalation, and follow-up with Chat/Text visitors.</li>
<li>Serves as a mandated reporter in cases of suspected abuse or neglect.</li>
<li>Is familiar with resources and providing information and referrals to visitors as appropriate.</li>
<li>Maintains accurate and detailed chat/text reports. Documentation must be completed in real time.</li>
<li>Responds to concurrent interactions in alignment with 988 Lifeline standards; accept overlapping interactions only when clinically appropriate.</li>
<li>Fulfills continuing education requirements as requested or required for the agency and the Suicide Prevention Center program.</li>
<li>Assists in the training process of new counselors.</li>
<li>Participates in community outreach events such as resources tables and presentation about suicide prevention as needed.</li>
<li>Attends routinely scheduled meetings for the Suicide Prevention Center.</li>
</ul>
Position Requirements
<ul>
<li>Minimum of six months of relevant behavioral health experience, with one year of experience in crisis intervention or suicide prevention strongly preferred.</li>
<li>Possess a high school Diploma or equivalent.</li>
<li>Be 18 years of age or older.</li>
<li>Possess strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to empathetically engage with any individual regardless of background, and demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence in the process.</li>
<li>Exceptional at multi-tasking and time management, able to drive multiple pieces of work forward simultaneously while meeting all deadlines.</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to effectively use web-based platforms, electronic documentation systems, and communication tools, with strong typing and data entry skills required to accurately document interactions in real time.</li>
<li>Have high speed internet with an active Ethernet connection, and a quiet/confidential workspace.</li>
<li>Be empathetic, flexible, and adaptable to varying situations.</li>
<li>Have open availability and flexibility to work within the program&rsquo;s operating hours, including weekends and holidays.</li>
<li>Be reliable and able to adhere to schedules based upon program needs.</li>
<li>Complete yearly required continuing education trainings.</li>
<li>Have knowledge of all job specific skills including safety assessment, data collection, and chat/text triage.</li>
<li>Goal-oriented team player with strong experience working in large and complex systems.</li>

Summary

As an Office Specialist, you will provide essential administrative support to the assigned program or department. You will greet and assist clients and visitors, determine the purpose of their visit, and connect them with the appropriate staff in a professional and welcoming manner. In this role, you will maintain health records in accordance with federal and state guidelines and the agency&rsquo;s policies and procedures to ensure compliance. You will also deliver professional customer service to clinical and administrative staff, clients, visitors, and vendors.

Primary Duties
<ul>
<li>Provides reception services, greets visitors, ascertains nature of business, signs-in visitors and directs visitors to appropriate person, issues visitor&rsquo;s identification when required.</li>
<li>Operates telephone console to receive incoming calls; provides information to caller or routes caller to appropriate staff; places outgoing phone calls as needed.</li>
<li>Records accurate phone messages including name, time of call, nature of business and person called upon and delivers (via voicemail, email, etc.) to the appropriate party.</li>
<li>Checks Agency/program voice mail throughout the day and answers or directs messages to appropriate personnel (no voicemail at this time)</li>
<li>Performs clerical duties which include routine typing, filing, copying, faxing, completing and submitting Agency forms, data entry and distributing Agency communications.</li>
<li>Sorts and distributes incoming mail; prepares outgoing mail including internal office mail, external mail, overnight services, delivery services and registered mail. Assures adequate funding on postage meter at all times.</li>
<li>Assists in the maintenance of office equipment including computers, telephone systems, copiers, fax machines and other types of office equipment; calls for service when necessary.</li>
<li>Assists in assuring all safety and health standards are followed and responds to safety issues within the facility in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Develops and maintains administrative and clerical skills through seminars, workshops or other forms of training/education.</li>
<li>Attends and actively participates in all team and staff meetings.</li>
<li>Scheduling clients&rsquo; appointments per the Centralized Scheduling guidelines.</li>
<li>Checks client insurance eligibility and updates EHR.</li>
<li>Registers clients, enters, and updates information in EHR.</li>
<li>Collects clients&rsquo; payments, performs Share-Of-Cost spend-down, maintains invoice and payment logs.</li>
<li>Coordinating e-mail and appointments in the Patient Portal system.</li>
<li>Assists clinical staff with various tasks including, scheduling, reminder calls, communication with pharmacy (authorization documents) and laboratories, medical records and Payor Financial Information.</li>
<li>Scans required paper documentation into EHR.</li>
<li>Performs retro-billing when needed.</li>
<li>Monitors and updates PFI/FOA.</li>
<li>Assists with translation/interpretation when needed.</li>
<li>Assists with Requests for Records/Invoicing/Log.</li>
<li>Takes Vital Signs and records measurements in EHR.</li>
<li>Opens/closes cases in EHR and County Systems</li>
<li>Updates information in required database (Task Needs, etc.)</li>
</ul>
Position Requirements
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li>
<li>Completion of courses in clerical and administrative skills, and/or relevant work experience.</li>
<li>Knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and general office practices and procedures.</li>
<li>Demonstrated customer service skills with ability to provide prompt, friendly courteous service to callers, visitors, clients and staff.</li>
<li>Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)</li>
<li>Effective verbal communication skills; bi-lingual skills in approved language desirable.</li>
<li>Effective work organization skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.</li>
<li>Basic math skills to calculate routine data.</li>
<li>Support the values and mission of Didi Hirsch as related to employment.</li>
<li>Know and comply with Agency policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Present ideas, information, and viewpoints clearly, both verbally and in writing.</li>
