Job Summary
St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Middle School Math Teacher to join our team for the 25-26 school year. In this role, you will develop and deliver engaging curricula that inspire middle school students to explore mathematics.
Ministerial Character
Catholic schools in the Diocese of Austin are canonically obedient to the Bishop and assist him in fulfilling his ministry and canonical obligations. Pastors, presidents, and principals serve as leaders of the schools to make Christ's mission present and enduring in the schools. To fulfill Christ's mission, the school leaders employ suitable, chosen collaborators, sharing Christ's mission with them and entrusting them with various responsibilities. Positions employed in this School help extend the ministry of the School leaders in particular ways, as outlined in the job description. The employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the School leaders in the performance of their ministry and, therefore, engages in ministry for the Church. 
Essential Duties<ul><li>
Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.</li><li>
Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.</li><li>
Supports and adheres to the Code of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school.</li><li>
Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters.</li><li>
Attends Religion Coordinator meetings or makes plans for a substitute, shares information with the principal regarding topics and recommendations.</li><li>
Supports the principal in plans to ensure that the Catholic mission and identity of the school is evident.</li><li>
Informs the principal of any announcements related to the certification of religion teachers.</li><li>
Maintains current and accurate records according to school policy.</li><li>
Communicates effectively within the school community.</li><li>
Meets staff development guidelines as set forth by the Diocese/local administration.</li><li>
Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits.</li><li>
Maintains a work schedule that maximizes availability to the school, students, and staff.</li><li>
Collaborates with peers to enhance the work environment and support planning.</li><li>
Conferences with others as needed and responds to messages in a timely manner.</li></ul>

Responsibilities<ul><li>
Design and implement math lessons tailored to middle school learners.</li><li>
Create instructional materials and assessments that align with educational objectives and standards.</li><li>
Teach middle school math subjects.</li><li>
Integrate hands-on activities and real-world applications to enhance learning in both math.</li><li>
Provide personalized instruction to address students' diverse learning needs and styles.</li><li>
Foster a classroom environment that encourages collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking.</li><li>
Regularly assess student progress, offer constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records.</li><li>
Stay updated on advancements in Java programming, math education, and teaching methodologies.</li><li>
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and share best practices.</li><li>
Build strong relationships with students, parents, and the school community to support student success.</li></ul>
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree or higher in Mathematics or a related field.</li><li>
Teaching certification or licensure in middle school mathematics (preferred).</li><li>
Experience teaching math to middle school students (preferred).</li><li>
Familiarity with educational technology tools to support interactive learning.</li><li>
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.</li><li>
Passion for education and a commitment to fostering a love of learning in students.</li></ul>
Certifications and Training:<ul><li>
Valid Texas driver's license.</li><li>
Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies throughout the employment period.</li><li>
Must meet the minimum requirements for teaching field as set forth by the Diocese and TCCED.</li></ul> 
Working Conditions:
All employees of the school are engaged in ministry and closely tied to the principal in the exercise of the principal&rsquo;s ministry and obligations to the school.
The school is an at-will employer.
Working in a fast-paced environment with priorities and plans that may change rapidly.
Working on weekends, evenings, and some holidays may be required.
Will be exposed to religious ceremonies, conduct, and speech including Christian prayer and Catholic liturgical celebrations. Staff meetings and other functions may open and close with Christian prayer.
Will be required to adhere to established dress codes and conduct standards.
All buildings and vehicles owned by the school are tobacco free.
May be required to use personal or school vehicles to drive to off-site locations.
Traveling within and outside the school to meetings and other events may be required, and travel may include overnight lodging.
Must maintain a work schedule that maximizes availability to students, parents, colleagues, and administration.
Will be required to work in multiple educational settings.
Employee Certification
All employees must adhere to the Catholic Schools Standards of Conduct, the Diocese of Austin EIM policies, and the social, ethical, and moral teachings of the Roman Catholic Church as interpreted by the Bishop of Austin.
