Summary
Responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, security, and performance of the Firm's database systems. Will work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, platform engineers and product architects to design, implement, and maintain robust and scalable database solutions.
Location
This position can sit in any of our U.S. offices and offers a hybrid work schedule. 
 
Responsibilities
<ul><li>Design, deploy, and manage highly available and scalable database architectures with a focus on Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL.
</li><li>Monitor and optimize database performance, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and other issues to ensure optimal system performance.
</li><li>Develop and implement database backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime.
</li><li>Perform database capacity planning and resource utilization analysis to ensure adequate scalability and efficient resource allocation.
</li><li>Collaborate with development teams to provide guidance and support in optimizing database queries, data models, and application integration.
</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents and issues including storage, performance, availability, data integrity and database security.
</li><li>Implement and enforce security and access control measures to protect sensitive data.
</li><li>Proactively identify potential issues, risks, and areas for improvement in the database infrastructure and propose and implement solutions.
</li><li>Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies, tools, and best practices, and recommend their adoption when appropriate.
</li><li>Performs and automates database management, maintenance, and data processing activities.
</li><li>Create and implement monitoring and alerting solutions to detect and prevent issues before they impact our users and applications.
</li><li>Participate in on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 availability of our systems and services
</li><li>Lead and mentor developers and other data team members
</li><li>Continuously identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce risk
</li><li>Document processes related to database design, configuration, standards, and performance
</li><li>Design, develop, implement and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes.
</li></ul>Desired Skills
<ul><li>Specific experience must include proficiency with document management systems, capacity planning, application integration, security, disaster recovery, monitoring, configuration and maintenance for all DMA systems and integrated applications.
</li><li>Must have excellent SQL and database administration skills. Good technical skills required to provide interpretation and communication/negotiation between technical resources.
</li><li>Ability to effectively present and communicate information to technical staff, all levels of end users, vendors and management.

As a member of the Business Development&rsquo;s Pursuit team, the Pursuits &amp; Directories Coordinator &ndash; Global, has a primary responsibility for collaborating with others to create compelling deliverables that best position the firm to win work. They will support the MBD team when (1) developing best-in-class, client-centric, compliant, and on-time, pitch and introductory material for business development purposes, (2) developing and maintaining business development standard content, (3) maintaining, updating, and navigating a robust experience library, and (4) collaborating with attorneys and colleagues on directory submissions.

Responsibilities 
 
<ul><li>Supports team throughout the pitch and proposal response lifecycle including but not limited to tracking opportunities; developing project plans; scheduling kick-off calls with lawyers and colleagues; gathering and drafting relevant content; and ensuring high quality/error free proposals are submitted.
</li><li>Creates initial pitch and proposal drafts, and update drafts based on attorney &amp; colleague input in alignment with best practices.
</li><li>Participates in conversations with attorney teams and MBD colleagues to identify win themes and leverages client research to tailor pitches, proposals and directories to differentiate DLA Piper from its competitors with clearly articulated value propositions.
</li><li>Aids in follow-up on opportunities to ascertain win/loss status.
</li><li>Supports maintenance of standard materials in conjunction with BD and Marketing colleagues, ensuring materials are updated consistently post-pitches.
</li><li>Utilizes and instills discipline in AI among teams to improve both process and content creation.
</li><li>Drafts, edits, formats and reviews proposal documents and ensures the final submission adheres to requirements.
</li><li>Prepares unique content and graphics to be used to enhance proposal and pitch meeting documents are compelling.
</li><li>Shares ideas to identify creative new ways to enhance proposal and presentation products.
</li><li>Works with groups to ensure the experience standard content is accurate and updated.
</li><li>Provides tailored and formatted experience lists and/or facilitates curated self-service lists.
</li><li>Works with relevant stakeholders on initial drafts of Chambers and Legal 500 directory submissions and coordinates on the project management of process.

Summary
As a member of the Business Development&rsquo;s Pursuit team, the Pursuits &amp; Directories Manager - Regulatory &amp; Government Affairs has a primary responsibility for assisting the Firm win new business through the development of compliant, on-time, best-in-class and client-centric formal RFP responses and pitch response. This position will be responsible for collaborating with others to create compelling deliverables that best position the firm to win work. They will have primary responsibility for (1) developing best-in-class, client-centric, compliant, and on-time, formal RFP responses and pitch and introductory material for business development purposes, (2) developing and maintaining business development standard content, (3) maintaining, updating, and navigating a robust experience library, and (4) collaborating with attorneys and colleagues on directory submissions.
