Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Assistant with strong communication skills to support our team during the working hours of 8:00am to 4:30pm within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for assisting the department with the processing of purchase orders, tracking deliveries, preserving vendor relationships, maintaining accurate records and all other tasks that support the success of the department. This role plays a critical part in maintaining optimal inventory levels, ensuring timely supply deliveries, and supporting production schedules.Essential Functions:&middot; Update purchase orders based on confirmations (costs, delivery dates, etc.)&middot; Follow-up on ETAs/deliveries &ndash; Advise and review any delays with Senior Buyer&middot; Communicate with Receiving Department on priorities involving raw materials and components according to production requirements.&middot; Enter and update all item information into database and create part numbers for new materials&middot; Maintain accurate records including filing purchase orders and all back up materials.&middot; Handle processing freight claims&middot; Handle processing sample orders, as well as keeping a sample log updated&middot; Ensure orders are converted to PDF&rsquo;s and saved.&middot; Maintain accurate data entry in Excel, ERP system, costing system, etc.&middot; All other duties as assignedJob Skills &amp; Qualifications Requirements:<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent required.
