Reporting to the Network Director of Curriculum and Instruction: STEM, the <b>Associate Director of High School Science &amp; Technology</b> is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of DREAM&rsquo;s rigorous, interdisciplinary High School&ndash;only STEM, AI Literacy, and Design curriculum. This role ensures that High School courses are vertically coherent within grades 9&ndash;12, aligned to college- and career-ready outcomes, and grounded in constructivist, culturally and historically responsive instructional practices.</p>

The Associate Director collaborates closely with school-based leaders to design and facilitate high-quality professional development; coaches High School leaders and teachers around content and pedagogy; ensures strong curriculum implementation; develops unit, interim, and course-level assessments; and analyzes student data to inform instructional and curricular decisions. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in High School science, engineering, technology, and emerging AI literacy instruction, along with a strong commitment to equity, innovation, and adult learning.</p>

Responsibilities</b></h3><p><b>
Curriculum, Assessment, and Data</b></p>
<ul>
<li><p>Develop, design, and maintain a rigorous, coherent, and interdisciplinary grades 9&ndash;12 Science, Technology, Engineering, AI Literacy, and Design curriculum that fosters achievement for all students, reflects constructivist learning principles, is culturally and historically responsive, and builds students&rsquo; critical consciousness, problem-solving, and design thinking skills;</p>
</li>
<li><p>Select, adapt, and/or create High School course curricula, unit plans, lesson plans, performance tasks, projects, and instructional materials across science, engineering, technology, AI literacy, and design pathways;</p>
</li>
<li><p>Collaborate with the Network Director of STEM and key stakeholders to design and execute a multi year High School curriculum revision and codification strategy, ensuring alignment to standards, graduation requirements, and postsecondary readiness;</p>
</li>
<li><p>Design and develop High School course-level, unit-level, and interim assessments, including project-based and performance-based measures aligned to instructional goals;</p>
</li>
<li><p>Analyze High School student achievement data to evaluate curriculum effectiveness and implementation fidelity; lead short- and long-term revisions to curriculum and assessments based on findings;</p>
</li>
<li><p>Partner with Principals, Academic Deans, and High School instructional leaders to regularly analyze assessment data and translate insights into instructional action plans;</p>
</li>
<li><p>Collaborate with the Curriculum and Instruction Team (CIT) to ensure High School STEM, AI Literacy, and Design courses align with ELA, Math, and broader instructional priorities.</p>
</li>
</ul><p><b>Teacher &amp; Leader Development</b></p>

<li><div><ul><li><p>Design and facilitate high-quality High School-focused professional development that supports teachers and leaders in effective curriculum implementation, instructional rigor, and interdisciplinary integration;</p>

<li><p>Conduct High School classroom walkthroughs and curriculum implementation reviews to identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities for instructional improvement;</p>
</li>
<li><p>Observe and provide feedback on HS Science, Technology, Engineering, AI Literacy, and Design Intellectual Prep and planning meetings to strengthen instructional planning and teacher development;</p>
</li>
<li><p>Engage in observation, coaching, and feedback cycles with High School content leads and teachers, in coordination with school leaders, to strengthen pedagogy, content knowledge, and instructional coherence;</p>
</li>
<li><p>Support High School educators in integrating emerging technologies, AI literacy, and design-based learning into instruction in developmentally appropriate and ethically grounded ways;</p>
</li>
<li><p>Serve as a model of exemplary High SchoolSTEM, AI Literacy, and Design instruction across the network.</p>
</li>

</b></h3><ul><li><p>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree required; Master&rsquo;s degree in Education, Curriculum &amp; Instruction, STEM Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field preferred;</p>
</li>
<li><p>Minimum of 5 years of experience teaching and/or leading high school science, engineering, and/or technology, with a strong record of achievement for all students;</p>
</li>
<li><p>Charter school leadership experience (including people management, curriculum implementation, and coaching teachers) strongly preferred;</p>
</li>
<li><p>Deep knowledge of High School instructional design, curriculum development, standards alignment, assessment design, and pedagogical best practices in science, engineering, technology, AI literacy, and/or design;</p>
</li>
<li><p>Experience designing or implementing interdisciplinary, project-based, or design-centered High School coursework, strongly preferred;</p>
</li>
<li><p>Proven experience developing High School teacher and leader capacity through professional development, coaching, and adult learning design;</p>
</li>
<li><p>Strong analytic, performance management, and systems-thinking orientation, with the ability to use data to inform strategy, accountability, and continuous improvement;</p>
</li>

<li>DREAM offers a competitive salary commensurate with relevant experience. The incoming annual salary range for this position is $105,000 to $115,000 per year. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary closer to the start of the range depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. All regular employees receive annual compensation increases and have the opportunity to earn both performance- and tenure-based bonuses. Because we value tenure in each role, our salary ranges are not capped.</li>

Reporting to the Network Director of curriculum: Humanities, the <b>Associate Director of 6-12 ELA </b>is responsible for managing the development and implementation of DREAM&rsquo;s rigorous, vertically-aligned, culturally and historically responsive 6th-12th grade English Language Arts curriculum. This leader collaborates closely with school-based administrators to design and facilitate high-quality professional development, coach leaders and teachers around ELA content and pedagogy, ensure strong curriculum implementation, create assessments, and analyze data to drive continuous improvement. The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of best practices for ELA teaching and learning across grades 6-12, experience fostering adult learning through high-quality professional development and coaching, strong data analysis and strategic thinking skills, a mission-driven mindset, and a passion for innovation.</p>

Curriculum, Assessment, and Data</b></p>
<ul>
<li><p>Develop and design a rigorous, vertically-aligned 6-12 ELA curriculum that fosters the achievement of all students, takes a constructivist approach, is culturally and historically responsive, and develops students&rsquo; critical consciousness;</p>
</li>
<li><p>Create unit plans, assessments, lesson plans, and instructional materials for grades 6-12 ELA;</p>
</li>
<li><p>Collaborate with the Managing Director of Curriculum and Instruction and other key stakeholders to design a multi-year process for strategic redesign, revision, and codification of the 6-12 ELA curriculum and assessments;</p>
</li>
<li><p>Analyze student data to assess the effectiveness of curricular design and implementation, make necessary short- and long-term revisions, and create network, school, and classroom-level action plans to improve student achievement;</p>
</li>
<li><p>Collaborate with principals, academic deans, and other key stakeholders to regularly analyze assessment data and use it to drive instruction;</p>
</li>
<li><p>Ensure alignment of the 6-12 ELA program with the broader PK-12 literacy vision by partnering with other ELA leaders across the network.</p>

<li><p>Coach Academic Deans and other instructional leaders to develop their content knowledge, curriculum expertise, and capacity to drive instructional excellence in ELA.</p>

</b></h3><ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree required; Master&rsquo;s degree in Education, Curriculum &amp; Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a related field preferred;</li>
