Job Summary<ul><li>Assists dentist, sets up equipment, prepares patients' for treatment, and keeps records.</li><li>Assists other office staff as necessary when not actively performing primary duties</li></ul>General Accountabilities<ul><li>Prepares patient, sterilizes or disinfects instruments and operatories, sets up instrument trays, prepares materials, and assists dentist during dental procedures.</li><li>Records treatment information in patient records.</li><li>Exposes dental diagnostic x-rays.</li><li>Takes and records patients medical and dental histories and vital signs.</li><li>Assists dentist in management of medical or dental emergencies.</li><li>Provides postoperative instructions prescribed by dentist.</li><li>Orders and monitors dental supplies and equipment inventory.</li><li>Takes preliminary impressions and fabricates temporary restorations.</li><li>Takes preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts.</li><li>Pours, trims, and polishes study casts.</li><li>Cleans and polishes removable appliances.</li><li>Hands off patient to front office staff for scheduling of next appointment(s).</li><li>Assists with regular maintenance of office equipment, monitoring of sterilization efficiency, and compliance with federal/state/local environmental policies</li><li>*The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.</li></ul>Job Qualifications<ul><li>Education: Post-secondary certificate from an accredited dental assistant program</li><li>Experience: 1-2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Instructing</li><li>Service orientation</li><li>Monitoring</li><li>Social perceptiveness</li><li>Critical thinking</li></ul>Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Retirement plan</li></ul>Work Location: In person
