Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Mold Designer specializing in Plastic Injection Molding to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing high-precision molds that enable the production of quality plastic components. Your expertise will drive the development of efficient, durable, and cost-effective mold designs, ensuring seamless integration with manufacturing processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects in a fast-paced environment, where your creativity and technical skills will directly impact product excellence and manufacturing success.Responsibilities<ul><li>Design and develop plastic injection molds based on product specifications, part geometry, and manufacturing requirements.</li><li>Create 3D mold designs and 2D detailed drawings using CAD software (e.g., Solid works.</li><li>Collaborate with product design, tooling and production teams to ensure manufacturability and design feasibility.</li><li>Preform mold flow analysis and make necessary design adjustments for quality and cycle-time improvement.</li><li>Specify materials, cooling systems, runner/gate design, and ejection systems.</li><li>Review and validate designs for strength, tolerance, and parting line accuracy.</li><li>Coordinate with mold makers and suppliers to suppliers to support tooling fabrication, testing and debugging.</li><li>Participate in mold trials and provide technical support for troubleshooting and continuous improvement.</li><li>Maintain accurate design documentation and adhere to company design standards.</li></ul>Experience Minimum 10 years of experience<ul><li>Proven experience in mechanical design specifically related to plastic injection molds within an industrial or manufacturing setting.</li><li>Strong proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD.</li><li>Familiarity with GD&amp;T standards and ASME codes &amp; standards relevant to mold design and manufacturing processes.</li><li>Knowledge of system design principles including cooling systems, ejection mechanisms, core/cavity construction, and assembly techniques.</li><li>Experience conducting FEA analyses to evaluate mold performance under various load conditions.</li><li>Ability to interpret technical schematics and create detailed drawings for fabrication purposes.</li><li>Mechanical engineering background with a solid understanding of materials science related to plastics and metals used in mold construction.</li><li>Excellent technical writing skills for preparing comprehensive documentation and reports.</li><li>Prior exposure to construction or system integration projects involving CAD drafting or schematic development is a plus.
