East Coast Protective Services has an immediate opening for Traffic Control Flagger at Charlotte International Airport in Charlotte, NC.</div>
<div>The Traffic Control Flagger's duties include providing traffic control, enforcement of parking regulations, and effective customer service to the public and visitors. Officers are expected to interact professionally and appropriately as a representative of the Aviation Department.</div>
<div></div><div><b><i>Essential functions</i></b></div>
<ul><li>Safely direct the traffic flow in front of the terminal buildings, concourses, and other areas throughout the airport. Sometimes you may have to stand in the crosswalk where traffic is flowing.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Respond to public requests for service</li></ul>
<ul><li>Identify and report criminal activities</li></ul>
<ul><li>Anticipate customer needs and provide guidance in a professional manner</li></ul>
<ul><li>Analyze customer situations and make decisions on circumstances in relation to airport rules</li></ul>
<ul><li>Ensure public compliance with existing parking ordinances</li></ul>
<ul><li>Assist in traffic control at accidents and special events</li></ul>
<ul><li>Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Maintain a consistent and unrelenting focus on safety throughout all job functions.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Communicate effectively and work with difficult people under high-stress situations.</li></ul>
<div></div><div><b><i>Position requirements</i></b></div>
<ul><li>High school diploma or GED</li></ul>
<ul><li>Valid, state-issued driver&rsquo;s license with acceptable driving history</li></ul>
<ul><li>One-year previous customer service experience</li></ul>
<div><b><i>Qualifications</i></b></div>
<ul><li>Ability to provide information to the public in a tactful and courteous manner</li></ul>
<ul><li>Positive, safety-conscious attitude</li></ul>
<ul><li>Experience delivering customer-focused solutions and leading process improvement efforts that deliver satisfaction</li></ul>
<ul><li>Currently certified or able to become certified in First Aid or equivalent level certification within 90 days of employment (will train upon hire)</li></ul>
<ul><li>Ability to work outdoors (walking, standing, directing traffic, etc.) in all weather conditions for a prolonged period of time</li></ul>
<ul><li>Ability to work non-traditional hours including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required</li></ul>
<ul><li>Clear and articulate written and oral communication skills</li></ul>
<ul><li>Candidates who are offered employment will be required to pass an extensive background check, obtain an Airport ID badge, and pass a medical examination</li></ul>
<div></div><div><b><i>Working Environment &amp; Physical Demands</i></b></div>
<ul><li>Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including a uniform and reflective vest</li></ul>
<ul><li>High level of stamina to include standing and walking on cement and various surfaces for extended periods of time, possibly as much as 8-10 hours per day.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions and environments with exposure to dust, dirt, and loud noises. Officers report safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances both verbally and in writing.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Handle security issues or emergency situations appropriately.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Fully embrace security/safety training programs to enhance their ability to advance in their careers.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Participate in industry-specific security/safety training programs to offer our clients the best-trained officers at their airports.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county, and municipal licensing and permit requirements for Aviation Traffic Control Officers.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Be aware of and familiar with the airport-specific operations performance manual and post orders.</li></ul></div>
