Unity Developer (Hybrid App &middot; Unity + React Native Integration) Location: Remote Type: Contract (4&ndash;6 weeks, MVP) Experience Level: Senior (3+ years Unity) Start: ImmediateAbout the Project We&rsquo;re building a character-centric mobile app where users interact with a living animated character inside a stylized 3D world. The app uses a hybrid architecture:<ul><li>React Native &rarr; app shell, navigation, onboarding, tools</li><li>Unity &rarr; immersive experience layer (character, world, animation, voice)</li><li>Backend &rarr; AI, voice, and lightweight state</li></ul>This role focuses on Unity development + seamless React Native stitching for the MVP.What You&rsquo;ll Be Working On<ul><li>Character animation system (idle, emotional states, reactions)</li><li>Character movement &amp; interaction inside a stylized world</li><li>AI-driven interaction (text + voice playback, states)</li><li>Visual progression (bond / liveliness bar, glow, animation tiers)</li><li>Lightweight quest presentation (visual prompts, reactions)</li><li>Embedding Unity as a view inside a React Native app</li><li>Handling Unity React Native communication (events, lifecycle)</li><li>Polishing transitions so the experience feels seamless</li></ul>Responsibilities<ul><li>Own the Unity experience layer end-to-end</li><li>Integrate provided modular character assets and environments</li><li>Implement animation state machines and emotional feedback</li><li>Consume backend APIs for AI chat, voice, progression, and quests</li><li>Work with the RN team to embed Unity using native view integration</li><li>Handle pause/resume when RN modals (e.g., doodle UI, journaling UI) appear</li><li>Deliver a production-ready Unity build for iOS &amp; Android</li><li>Participate in basic QA and handoff documentation</li></ul>Required Skills<ul><li>Strong Unity (C#) experience (mobile-focused)</li><li>Experience with character animation systems (Animator / state machines)</li><li>Comfortable integrating REST APIs in Unity</li><li>Experience embedding Unity into native apps or hybrid apps</li><li>Understanding of app lifecycle, pause/resume, audio handling</li><li>Ability to collaborate with RN and backend developers</li></ul>Nice to Have<ul><li>Prior experience with React Native Unity integration</li><li>Experience with voice playback, and audio-driven animation</li><li>Experience with modular character systems</li><li>Shipped mobile apps or games</li></ul>What This Role Is NOT<ul><li>Not responsible for backend development</li><li>Not responsible for React Native UI implementation</li><li>Not responsible for auth, payments, or analytics</li></ul>This role is focused on experience quality, not app plumbing.Timeline &amp; Scope Duration: 4&ndash;6 weeks<ul><li>Scope: MVP</li><li>Clear, well-defined requirements (no open-ended feature creep)</li><li>Potential for future phases if MVP is successful</li></ul>How to Apply Please include:<ul><li>Brief summary of Unity experience</li><li>Examples of character-based or animated projects (if available)</li><li>Any experience with hybrid apps (Unity + native / RN)</li><li>Availability for the next 4&ndash;6 weeks</li></ul>Why This Project<ul><li>Clear architecture and scope</li><li>No chaotic feature creep</li><li>Focus on quality and emotional experience</li><li>Real product launch, not a throwaway prototype</li></ul>Job Type: Contract Contract length: 6 weeksPay: Rs50,000.00 - Rs70,000.00 per weekApplication Question(s):<ul><li>How many years of hands-on Unity development experience do you have, specifically on mobile (iOS/Android)?</li><li>Have you ever embedded Unity inside a native or hybrid mobile app (e.g., React Native, native iOS/Android)?</li><li>Have you worked with audio playback or voice-driven interactions in Unity?
