We are looking for a responsible candidate to join our team. This is a senior level position where you will be building on your current knowledge to learn on the job. We&rsquo;re looking for someone with a telecommunications background who has worked with fiber optic cabling, Outside Plant (OSP) construction and/or design for both aerial and underground cable placement with experience in FTTx deployments. The ideal candidate will have an active RCDD certification or be willing to complete the RCDD certification program as an employee of ECC. The candidate is responsible for supporting the Construction Manager by providing GIS and technical drawing services for projects with the following scope: Inside Plant (ISP) / Outside Plant (OSP) cabling infrastructure; wireless infrastructure, LAN/WAN networks; Internet, broadband and telecom services.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<ul><li>ESRI ArcGIS/QGIS/VISIO/AutoCAD drawing production as needed for project requirements.</li><li>Evaluate both aerial &amp; underground cable plant construction in the Outside Plant (OSP) for quality of acceptance, and identify Point of Presence locations for utilities, utilizing maps, drawings, GPS locator and laser measurement tools such as Trimble and IKE 4.</li><li>Conceptual understanding of design principles for both aerial &amp; underground cable plant infrastructure for Fiber Optic &amp; Copper cable placement in the Outside Plant (OSP) and / or Inside Plant (ISP) environments.</li><li>Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), ANSI/TIA standards, Rural Utilities Service (RUS) Bulletins, current industry design practices; and with BICSI TDMM manuals.</li><li>Capable of reading and interpreting construction drawings and maps.</li><li>Experience with FTTH designs and standards.</li><li>Experience with GPON architecture.</li><li>Knowledge of the permitting requirements across local jurisdiction.</li><li>Capable of producing permit drawings and creating applications for permit submissions to such agencies as the Department of Transportation (DOT), state and local municipalities, Rail Roads, etc.</li><li>Manage construction of information and communications technology (ICT) type networks in the OSP and / or ISP environments.</li><li>Create and maintain orderly records and project documents.</li><li>Reviews contractor applications for payment.</li><li>Reports on the status of projects, schedules, and costs to the Manager of Broadband Design.</li><li>Lead and conduct utility ride outs with multiple utilities.</li><li>Ability to perform field visits and network verifications; Complete and document OSP and ISP site surveys.</li><li>Responds to and troubleshoots fiber optic outages utilizing various methodologies including but not limited to EXFO and OTDR.</li></ul>EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE:<ul><li>A minimum of six years of verifiable full-time equivalent work experience in the Telecommunications (ICT) Industry. Or an equivalent combination of related work experience, training and / or education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job is required.</li><li>Can drive a motor vehicle; must have a valid driver&rsquo;s license and current Auto insurance.</li><li>Credentials as an RCDD is preferred. A candidate that is on the certification path to obtain an RCDD will be considered.</li><li>Field Installer experience is a plus.</li><li>Willing and able to travel as necessary for project requirements to include but not limited to project installation and start-up activities, client meetings, company sponsored meetings, training, industry related seminars, forums, conventions, etc.</li><li>Associates degree in Geographic Information Science, IT, Telecom, Electrical Design, or related field (Bachelor&rsquo;s degree preferred).</li><li>ESRI ArcGIS certification, a plus.</li></ul>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS &amp; ABILITIES:<ul><li>Proficient knowledge of pole line design and fiber construction, both aerial and underground.</li><li>Proficient in fiber cable design supporting backhaul and FTTH installations.</li><li>Advanced knowledge of ArcGIS type systems, IKE 4, Trimble and 30&rsquo; Measuring Stick and the use of test equipment; like but not limited to EXFO and OTDR.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.</li><li>Strong business acumen.</li><li>Excellent customer service skills.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite ESRI ArcGIS, Excel, MS Visio, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, ESRI ArcGIS, Google Earth.</li><li>Familiarity with BICSI TDMM manuals, ANSI/TIA standards and current industry design practices are required.</li><li>Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) is a plus.</li><li>Capable of reading and interpreting maps and construction drawings.</li><li>Must demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail.</li><li>Proficient use of computers and standard office equipment including telephone, printers, scanners, and plotters.</li></ul>Are you ready to help your customers every day while also strengthening yourself and your career?
