The Utilities &amp; Grounds Technician is responsible for maintaining and supporting facility utility systems and ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the plant grounds. This role plays a critical part in supporting food safety standards, regulatory compliance, and overall operational efficiency. The hours for this position are from 6 pm - 6:30 am.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
Key Responsibilities</b></div><div></div><div><b><br>
Utilities Maintenance</b></div><ul><li>
Monitor, operate, and maintain facility utility systems including:</li><li>
Boilers.</li><li>
Compressed air systems</li><li>
Water systems (potable, wastewater, and process water)</li><li>
Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on utility equipment</li><li>
Monitor gauges, meters, and control systems to ensure safe and efficient operation</li><li>
Assist with troubleshooting and resolving utility system failures or inefficiencies</li><li>
Maintain logs and documentation for system performance and compliance</li></ul><div><b>
Grounds &amp; Facility Maintenance</b></div><ul><li>
Maintain facility grounds including mowing, trimming, snow removal, and landscaping</li><li>
Ensure parking lots, walkways, and exterior areas are clean, safe, and hazard-free</li><li>
Perform general building maintenance including minor repairs, painting, and upkeep</li><li>
Support waste management processes, including dumpster and recycling area maintenance</li></ul><div><b>
Food Safety &amp; Compliance</b></div><ul><li>
Follow all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP, and food safety protocols</li><li>
Ensure utilities systems meet sanitation and regulatory standards</li><li>
Maintain cleanliness of utility areas and mechanical spaces</li><li>
Report any conditions that could impact food safety or quality</li></ul><div><b>
Safety &amp; Environmental</b></div><ul><li>
Adhere to all plant safety procedures and OSHA regulations</li><li>
Identify and report unsafe conditions or equipment issues</li><li>
Assist in environmental compliance, including wastewater and emissions monitoring</li><li>
Properly handle and store chemicals and maintenance supplies</li></ul><div><b>
General Duties</b></div><ul><li>
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner</li><li>
Assist other maintenance staff as needed</li><li>
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives</li><li>

Education &amp; Experience</b></div><ul><li>
High school diploma or equivalent required</li><li>
Technical training or certification (HVAC, boiler operation, etc.) preferred</li><li>
1&ndash;3 years of experience in industrial maintenance, utilities, or facilities work (food manufacturing preferred)</li></ul><div><b>
Skills &amp; Abilities</b></div><ul><li>
Basic mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills</li><li>
Familiarity with industrial utility systems</li><li>
Ability to read gauges, meters, and technical manuals</li><li>
Strong attention to detail and cleanliness</li><li>

Position Overview</b></div><div></div><div><br>
The Ammonia (NH3) Maintenance Mechanic ensures the safe and efficient operation of Echo Lake Foods&rsquo; industrial ammonia refrigeration and utility systems. This role performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs in compliance with IIAR standards, PSM/RMP programs, and company safety policies. Ideal candidates bring solid technical expertise, a proactive mindset, and experience in food or industrial manufacturing environments.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
Responsibilities</b></div><ul><li>
Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair manufacturing equipment to ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently, including conveyor systems, hydraulic sorting equipment, motors, electrical systems, and facility equipment.</li><li>
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on facility machinery and equipment.</li><li>
Complete daily maintenance and repair documentation and logs.</li><li>
Perform all assigned duties in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Company safety policies and procedures.</li></ul><div><b>
Qualifications</b></div><ul><li>
Minimum of 2 years of experience in the industrial maintenance field, preferably within a food manufacturing environment.</li><li>
Advanced knowledge and skills in diagnosing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing high-speed manufacturing equipment.</li><li>
Experience working with AC/DC motors and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).</li><li>
Ability to read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, schematics, operation manuals, and manufacturing specifications.</li><li>
Knowledge of piping systems and mechanical components.</li><li>
Basic arithmetic skills.</li><li>
Ability to operate drilling and milling machines to produce or retool mechanical parts.</li><li>
Effective oral and written communication skills.</li><li>
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with employees and leadership.</li></ul><div><b>
Physical Requirements</b></div><ul><li>
Manual dexterity required to operate machinery and power/hand tools.</li><li>
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.</li><li>
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, including cold temperature conditions.</li><li>
