The Opportunity
As a Lead Engineer within Finance Systems and Analytics, you&rsquo;ll play a key role in leading the engineering capability behind critical platforms that underpin revenue, risk, and settlements across our Customers business. You&rsquo;ll guide teams delivering high-impact systems, while supporting our journey towards An Electric Britain.

You&rsquo;ll lead technical delivery across multiple products, shaping best practice in cloud, DevOps, and agile delivery. Who You Are
As a Lead Engineer (FS&amp;A), you&rsquo;re a confident technical leader who combines strong engineering expertise with the ability to guide teams and influence stakeholders. You bring a delivery mindset, enjoy solving complex problems, and take ownership of outcomes. To be shortlisted, you need to offer&hellip;<ul><li>
Proven experience leading small to medium-sized engineering teams in a fast-paced agile environment</li><li>
Strong expertise in cloud architectures, particularly AWS, supported by relevant certifications</li><li>
Hands-on experience with server-side programming using languages such as Python, Java, Kotlin, or NodeJS</li><li>
Experience designing and building REST APIs and integrating third-party services</li><li>
Commercial experience with React or React Native, alongside modern state management libraries</li><li>
Strong experience with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, GitHub, or Terraform</li><li>
Knowledge of event-driven, serverless, and loosely coupled architectures</li><li>
Experience applying test-driven or behaviour-driven development practices</li><li>
Proven experience working within the energy industry</li><li>
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders</li></ul>
What You&rsquo;ll Be Doing<ul><li>
Leading the day-to-day engineering capability and technical delivery across finance systems and analytics products</li><li>
Driving the design, development, and optimisation of cloud-based and data-intensive platforms</li><li>
Mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement</li><li>
Ensuring robust CI/CD pipelines, testing practices, and deployment standards are in place</li><li>
Collaborating with product owners, architects, and stakeholders to deliver value-focused solutions</li></ul>
