The Case Manager also coordinates access to resources such as training programs and support services, ensuring clients overcome obstacles and achieve successful employment outcomes. 
 
At the American Job Center, our team of Navigators, Case Managers, and Career Advisors come together to provide services to assist jobseekers in their career endeavors. We pride ourselves on being customer-focused and ensuring that we&rsquo;re helping jobseekers with clear plans that will help them achieve self-sufficiency. 
 
Team Members on the Case Management team will be responsible for the tasks associated with the program that they are assigned based on participant need. Team Members will be trained and supported on the core expectations of the programs below, and the program and location will be based on participant needs and enrollments.

Experience Requirements: 
<ul><li>Prior experience in case management or a related field is required</li><li>Familiarity with and knowledge of social services and resources to connect clients</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Experience working with customers of varying skills, experiences, and diverse backgrounds</li><li>Experience in a fast-paced environment and managing a case load of clients</li><li>Demonstrated proficiency in data entry with a strong attention to detail</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is essential for report generation and data analysis</li></ul>

As a Career Advisor you will be responsible for registering jobseekers as Workforce1 members and connecting them to job readiness services, training opportunities, and outbound referrals to partner organizations that address employment barriers. You will also manage the Individual Training Grant (ITG) application process, including eligibility, reengagement, and progress tracking. As part of a cross-functional team with the Receptionist and Instructor, Career Advisors are cross-trained to provide coverage for front desk reception and workshop facilitation when needed. This position requires flexibility as it is an office-based role with occasional offsite work, providing both in-person and virtual services to customers as needed. 
 
Workforce1 is a service provided by the NYC Department of Small Business Services that prepares and connects qualified candidates to job opportunities in New York City. We make strong matches for both candidates and employers by using a unique combination of recruitment expertise, industry knowledge, and skill-building workshops to strengthen candidates&rsquo; employment prospects. Services are provided to individuals aged 18 and over in all five boroughs of New York City. 
 
Successful Elements: 
 
<ul><li>Register jobseekers as Workforce1 members and conduct initial assessments to identify their job readiness, skills, and barriers to employment.</li></ul> 
<ul><li>Guide participants through Workforce1 services and connect them to job readiness workshops, training programs, or partner organizations.</li></ul> 
<ul><li>Assist in creating individualized employment plans (IEPs) to outline next steps toward job readiness.</li></ul> 
<ul><li>Manage the full Individual Training Grant (ITG) application process, including eligibility screening, application submission, and reengagement efforts.</li></ul> 
<ul><li>Monitor participant progress in approved training programs and maintain communication with providers.</li></ul> 
<ul><li>Track outcomes and document participant success in program databases.</li></ul> 
<ul><li>Refer participants to partner organizations for wraparound services that address employment barriers, such as childcare, housing, transportation, or ESL classes.</li></ul> 
<ul><li>Provide front desk reception coverage as needed, including greeting visitors, managing check-ins, answering inquiries, and scheduling appointments.</li></ul> 
<ul><li>Provide Instructor coverage as needed, including facilitating job readiness workshops, such as resume building, interview preparation, and Introduction to Services Orientations.</li></ul> 
<ul><li>Document all participant interactions, including referrals, workshop coverage, and ITG progress in program databases and internal trackers.</li></ul> 
<ul><li>Ensure timely and accurate data entry and reporting to meet program and compliance requirements.</li></ul> 
<ul><li>Track metrics (i.e. registrations, ITG completions, and referral outcomes) to support performance goals.</li></ul> 
Experience Requirements: 
 
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree.</li></ul> 
<ul><li>1-2 years of experience in workforce development, career advising, customer service, or a related field.</li></ul> 
<ul><li>Strong customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills.</li></ul> 
<ul><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).</li></ul>

Education and Experience Requirements:
