<p>We&rsquo;re seeking a motivated intern to help our new tradespeople get from &quot;hired&quot; to &quot;on-site&quot; for two major solar energy projects ramping up this summer. This is a 100% in-office role based at our Champlin, MN location, offering you a front-row seat to how our HR team works together to support people, culture, and business operations.</p>
<p>To stay in sync with the solar project teams, this role follows a schedule of 7:00am&ndash;3:30pm, Monday through Friday, giving you a head start on the day and time to enjoy the afternoon.</p>
<p>As an intern, you&rsquo;ll also participate in our Summer Internship Program, where you&rsquo;ll engage in our events including:</p>
<ul><li><b>Jobsite Ride-Along: </b>Visit job sites to see our projects, trades professionals, and safety culture in action.</li>
<li><b>Insights Discovery Workshop:</b> Learn about your professional style and how to work effectively with others.</li>
<li><b>Networking:</b> Learn from leaders as part of our &ldquo;Coffee and Career Conversations&quot; event and be paired with an early career mentor as part of our &ldquo;Intern Connect&rdquo; program.</li>
</ul>
<p>Our internship program lasts 12 weeks, with flexible start and end dates to meet the needs of your school and extracurricular schedule.</p>
<h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Responsibilities</b></h3>
<ul><li>Reach out to new solar project hires by phone and email to walk them through their next steps and answer any questions to ensure a smooth new-hire experience.</li>
<li>Coordinate and track pre-employment drug testing; monitor results closely to ensure candidates are cleared for work as quickly as possible.</li>
<li>Update project hiring tracking sheets daily. Once a worker is cleared, proactively notify the project team and the new hire to confirm their start date.</li>
<li>Review Form I-9s for accuracy and enter them into E-Verify.</li>
<li>Maintain electronic files for all drug test results and I-9 documentation.</li>
<li>Process employee paperwork and set up new employees in the payroll system by the end of the day they are hired.</li>
<li>Prepare physical orientation materials by assembling and binding orientation booklets.</li>
<li>Partner with the payroll team to assist with special projects and tasks related to prevailing wage requirements, as needed</li>
<li>Assist with the coordination and facilitation of new-hire orientation for field employees on non-solar projects, as needed.</li>
<li>Assist the HR team with other special projects and tasks, as needed.</li>
</ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Requirements</b></h3>
<ul><li>Enrolled in a four-year undergraduate program in Human Resources or related field (i.e. business).</li>
<li>3.0 GPA or higher given priority consideration.</li>
</ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Qualifications</b></h3>
<ul><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be comfortable and professional when speaking to others by phone and email.</li>
<li>Self-motivated with strong integrity and ethics.</li>
<li>Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy while handling large volumes of data and sensitive paperwork.</li>
<li>Ability to prioritize tasks in and meet deadlines to help ensure hiring and labor needs are met and manage multiple priorities at one time.</li>
<li>Must demonstrate the ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion and in accordance with privacy laws.</li>
<li>Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Sheets, Docs, Slides).</li>
<li>Knowledge of the construction industry and labor unions is preferred, but not required.</li>
</ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Working Conditions</b></h3>
<ul><li>Performance of duties will mostly be in an office environment.</li>
<li>While primarily office-based, participation in jobsite ride-alongs involves exposure to outdoor construction environments and weather conditions (standard PPE will be provided).</li>

<p>This internship provides a valuable learning experience and the opportunity to gain practical skills and experience. Please note that this is a temporary position and does not include company-sponsored benefits, like health insurance.</p>
