* 3rd SHIFT NEEDED* The shift is a 12 hr. shift (6pm to 6:30am) Metallurgical Lab Technician Position SummaryThe metallurgy technician assists with the production, processing, and testing of metals and alloys. This involves a variety of tasks including sample preparation, laboratory equipment operation, sample evaluation, chemical testing, and data analysis.Primary Responsibilities-<ul><li>Ensuring adherence to all safety procedures and quality control standards in the laboratory.</li><li>Following safety guidelines and procedures when operating equipment and handling samples.</li><li>Preparing metal and alloy samples for various tests, including microscopic examination, chemical analysis, and mechanical testing.</li><li>Operating and maintaining lab equipment like spectrometers, hardness testers, and microscopes.</li><li>Conducting physical, chemical, and mechanical tests on metal samples to determine their composition, structure, and properties.</li><li>Approving materials that meet established criteria and reporting exceptions as they occur.</li><li>Recording test results, analyzing data, and preparing reports, often using charts and graphs.</li><li>Identifying and addressing quality issues.</li><li>Working with other technicians, engineers, and production staff to resolve issues and share information.</li><li>Assisting with research and development projects related to new materials and processes.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Previous experience in a metallurgical space or in material science is preferred.</li><li>Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel) is required.</li><li>Prior experience working in a laboratory or other controlled environment is preferred.</li><li>Good interpersonal skills involving ability to work effectively cross-functionally and cross-culturally.</li><li>Good written and verbal communication skills for meetings and presentations.</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Employee discount</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Referral program</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
