Job description:Job Overview:EGEC Qatar for Engineering Consultations W.L.L. is seeking a highly qualified Senior Biomedical Engineer with solid experience in medical construction projects, laboratory environments, and biomedical systems. The successful candidate will lead technical evaluations, oversee equipment installation, and support the delivery of high-quality healthcare infrastructure across specialized lab and medical facilities.This is a strategic, hands-on role that combines biomedical engineering expertise with cross-disciplinary project coordination and field supervision.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Oversee the installation, commissioning, testing, and calibration of biomedical equipment in compliance with regulatory and safety standards</li><li>Review and assess shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documentation, ensuring alignment with project specifications</li><li>Evaluate and manage service contracts, maintenance schedules, and vendor performance</li><li>Provide training and operational support to clinical and technical staff on equipment handling, care, and safety protocols</li><li>Coordinate with architecture, MEP, and design teams regarding lab specifications, medical systems layout, and equipment integration</li><li>Ensure compliance with infection control, safety codes, and environmental health standards in medical/laboratory settings</li><li>Supervise inventory control and ensure timely procurement and delivery of medical/lab devices</li><li>Provide expert input during design review phases for medical projects</li></ul>Required Qualifications:<ul><li>B.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Technology, or equivalent</li><li>Minimum 10 years of specialized experience in biomedical engineering</li><li>12+ years of total professional experience</li><li>Experience in healthcare/laboratory construction projects is essential</li><li>Familiarity with chemical labs, specialized medical equipment, MEP systems, and lab furniture requirements</li><li>Proven ability to work with design teams and contractors to align biomedical infrastructure with operational needs</li></ul>Technical Skills:<ul><li>Strong understanding of AutoCAD and Revit for lab design, technical coordination, and BIM documentation</li><li>Solid knowledge of documentation workflows, equipment calibration, and clinical lab testing</li><li>Experience in preventive maintenance planning, SOP development, and compliance reporting</li><li>Analytical and reporting skills with a focus on safety, quality, and operational performance</li></ul>Preferred Candidate Profile:<ul><li>Based in Qatar or has previous experience in Qatar &ndash; This is a must</li><li>Available for immediate or short-notice joining</li><li>Excellent English communication skills; Arabic is a plus</li><li>Strong team player with leadership ability in multidisciplinary project teams</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timeWork Location: In person
