Position Summary:

A Senior Piping Designer is a highly experienced professional responsible for all aspects of piping drafting and design for projects of varying size and complexity. This role requires the ability to perform assigned tasks independently with minimal supervision.

Senior Piping Designers are proficient in both 2D and 3D design environments and skilled in incorporating 3D scans into their work. They serve as competent checkers and can oversee other designers and drafters as part of a larger design team. Strong design, drafting, and leadership skills are essential, along with a broad understanding of principles and practices across multiple engineering disciplines.

The position demands proactive communication and regular reporting on project progress to ensure quality, schedule adherence, and budget compliance. Senior Piping Designers also assist the Department Manager with preparing and submitting estimates for proposals when assigned. Collaboration with other designers, engineering leads, and project managers is a key aspect of the role.

While they work independently on most tasks, Senior Piping Designers receive guidance on overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters.

Key Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Develop and review piping layouts, isometrics, and support details using CAD tools (e.g., CADWorx).</li>
<li>Interpret and apply P&amp;IDs, plot plans, tie-in lists, and piping specifications.</li>
<li>Lead design efforts for greenfield and brownfield projects in oil &amp; gas, mining, food &amp; beverage, and power sectors.</li>
<li>Coordinate with other disciplines to resolve design issues and maintain project schedules.</li>
<li>Provide on-site support during construction phases, including troubleshooting and design adjustments.</li>
<li>Mentor junior designers and manage small to mid-sized design teams (1&ndash;12 designers).</li>
<li>Utilize 3D laser scanning for accurate modeling and tie-in planning.</li>
</ul>
Job Requirements:

Experience: 10+ years in Piping Design

Education: Associate degree in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design or equivalent technical training

Location: This position is based out of our Ferndale, WA office. It is a hybrid role with an expectation to be in the office 3 days a week (Tues-Thurs).

<li>Experience reading and understanding P&amp;IDs.</li>
<li>Experience in field assignments gathering dimensional information and photos.</li>
<li>Familiarity with industry design standards.</li>
<li>Familiarity with generation of Isometrics and MTOs.</li>
<li>Familiarity with utilizing 3D laser scans in CAD environment.</li>
<li>Experience leading model reviews with a design team (all Disciplines).</li>
<li>Experience leading model reviews with a client.</li>
</ul>
Collaboration: Ability to form and foster collaborative relationships within Eichleay and with clients and partners.

Travel: Frequent travel will be required to a nearby refinery site location.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
<ul>
<li>Experience inputting piping specifications into CADWorx.</li>
<li>Knowledge of creating and manipulating Isogen borders and setups.</li>
<li>Experience preforming 3D scans in the field.</li>
<li>Experience with CADWorx Equipment and the CADWorx Support Modeler.</li>
<li>Experience with Autodesk Vault.</li>
<li>Experience working with high value engineering centers based in other countries.</li>

Position Summary

The I&amp;C Design position calls for a candidate with experience in I&amp;C design principles and practices. The position involves contributing to both single-discipline and multi-disciplinary projects, collaborating closely with senior designers and / or engineers. The position requires the candidate to work independently but occasionally will work under I&amp;C Team Lead supervision. Responsibilities also include preparing scopes of work, budgets, and providing input to project schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

<li>Demonstrate awareness and commitment to health, safety and environmental issues. Address issues as necessary to ensure zero harm to all employees, clients, and contractors with zero environmental incidents.</li>
<li>Consistently achieve goals, delivering quality and accurate work and meeting project schedules. This includes reviewing project documents for conformity and quality assurance.</li>
<li>Ability to assemble I&amp;C engineering, drawing and construction work packages for review and approval, that may include Instrument Index, I/O List, and design deliverables including loop diagrams, conduit and wiring diagrams, schematics, location plans and other project deliverables.</li>
<li>Support development of man hour estimates and material take-offs (MTO).</li>
<li>Perform job walks, site visits, assisting with scope development and supporting IFC (construction) package completion.</li>
<li>Respond to construction requests for information (RFIs).</li>
<li>Support project construction, commissioning and start-up as well as client site turnaround activities as required.</li>
<li>Attend and participate in Client and Eichleay project team meetings when required.</li>
<li>Effectively interact with all levels of employees and clients.</li>
<li>Willingness to follow directions and guidance from senior Design and Engineering staff.</li>
<li>Maintain schedule and budget commitments.</li>

Job Requirements:

Experience: Minimum of 5 years&rsquo; experience in Refinery or other oil and gas related industries.

Education: Associate&rsquo;s degree in engineering or scientific discipline is preferred, or specialized courses in drafting, AutoCAD, engineering drawing, and 3D modeling.
