<div>Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI), a leading power engineering consultant firm, is seeking a motivated individual to join our San Diego or Ontario, CA office as a designer. ECI specializes in engineering services to electric utilities (substation, protection, transmission) alternative energy systems, communication, oil/gas, mining and heavy industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing electrical and physical design work for electrical substations ranging from 12 kV to 500 kV.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to performing substation electrical and physical design work and, when required, drafting for assigned projects; support other projects as required; resolution of AutoCAD software operating issues; establishing AutoCAD environments per client requirements.

Minimum Requirements: College degree or two-year technical certificate in computer-aided drafting/design and a minimum of 15 years of computer-aided drafting and designer experience required. The successful candidate must possess advanced computer skills and be an expert in the use, operation and maintenance of AutoCAD. A sound operating knowledge of MicroStation is preferred. Must have proven effective verbal and written communication skills. The successful candidate must be results oriented and capable of completing design assignments with minimal direction and must be effective in a team environment with strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to interface with team members and clients. This position requires a strong work ethic with attention to detail, quality, schedule and budget. Occasional travel/driving may be required. Substation Designer

<div>Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power engineering consultant firm that provides engineering, system planning and studies, technical consultation, project management, surveying, environmental planning, commissioning/testing and construction services to electric utilities, energy developers and industrials throughout the U.S. Our experience includes system voltages from 4.16 kV through 765 kV.

ECI has an immediate opening for a mid-level designer. This position will encompass a variety of design and drafting tasks supporting overhead and underground transmission line and distribution line projects using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, PLS-CADD software, and company-specific spreadsheets. This includes the design of underground power cable, routing, development of system plans, grounding details, conduit details, plans and profiles, structures, preparation of bill of materials, and electric schematics based on guidance from the project engineer. Occasional drafting and design support to other groups, including substation and industrial, is expected.

Minimum Requirements: College degree in an acceptable curriculum or two-year technical certificate in computer-aided drafting/design. A minimum of 10 years of concentrated computer-aided drafting experience or sufficient CADD knowledge supplemented by industrial, construction or construction management is required. 3D CADD experience (MicroStation or AutoCAD) is beneficial. Proven effective verbal and written communication skills; proven excellent level of interpersonal skills; ability to work individually and on a team. Must be detail oriented and possess a high level of organizational skills. The successful applicant may be subject to client mandated drug and background checking. Designer (Transmission)

<div>Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI), a leading power engineering consultant firm, is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a drafter/designer. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing electrical and physical drafting and design work for electrical substations and renewable energy projects ranging from 4 kV to 500 kV.

The successful candidate will perform drafting in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation related to electrical substations and renewable energy facilities. Controls design will involve preparation of drawings to include mapping layouts, general arrangements, and one-line, three-line, DC schematics, wiring diagrams and such like.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

PV and BESS Drafter/Designer:
<ul>
<li>Preparing complete drawings of utility scale BESS or PV layouts, facilities or general arrangements including section and detail views and profiles in a manner to provide clear and concise representation of facilities.</li>
<li>Preparing electrical single lines, aux power, SCADA wiring drawings.</li>
<li>Preparation of project drawings through preliminary selection of alternatives, layouts and arrangements.</li>
<li>Preparation of BOMs and using excel tools to quantify lengths, parts and pieces, etc</li>
<li>Demonstrating personal development of technical knowledge through interface with the engineering departments in the execution and review of project assignments.</li>
<li>Assisting in the training and advancement of skills for other, less -experienced designing and drafting department personnel.</li>
</ul>
Substation Drafter/Designer:
<ul>
<li>Preparing complete drawings of structures, layouts, facilities or general arrangements including section and detail views and profiles in a manner to provide clear and concise representation of facilities.</li>
<li>Preparing electrical single lines, AC &amp; DC schematics and wiring drawings.</li>
<li>Preparation of project drawings through preliminary selection of alternatives, layouts and arrangements.</li>
<li>Demonstrating personal development of technical knowledge through interface with the engineering departments in the execution and review of project assignments.</li>
<li>Assisting in the training and advancement of skills for other, less -experienced designing and drafting department personnel.</li>
</ul>
