About the role
 
We are looking for a driven and organized Content & Partnerships Manager to join our team working on a leading newsletter in the software development space. This is a hybrid role that blends content and business responsibilities for a publication that reaches hundreds of thousands of developers each week.
 
You’ll work directly with one of our founding creators on writing sponsor ad copy, curating developer-relevant links, and managing the sponsorship pipeline and calendar. Over time, you’ll have opportunities to contribute more to editorial content and help shape the newsletter’s voice.
 
The ideal candidate is a sharp, adaptable writer with strong research skills who also enjoys the sales and marketing side of media. You don’t need to be a software developer, but you should be curious about tech and able to write convincingly for a developer audience. This will require learning quickly and delivering engaging copy, while simultaneously managing sponsor relationships with professionalism and persistence.
 
Tasks
 
Key Responsibilities
 
Content & Editorial: 
<ul>
<li>Write witty, engaging ad copy for newsletter sponsorships that matches our established tone of voice (funny, smart, approachable)</li>
<li>Research and curate developer-relevant links and story ideas for the newsletter</li>
<li>Contribute to writing main editorial content alongside the editor</li>
</ul>
Partnerships & Operations: 
<ul>
<li>Own the newsletter’s sponsorship calendar, ensuring every ad slot is filled in advance</li>
<li>Follow up with past sponsors, reply to inbound requests, and maintain a strong sponsor pipeline</li>
<li>Coordinate with sponsors to get creative assets, create ads, and manage approvals</li>
<li>Track sponsorship performance and support ongoing client relationships</li>
<li>Maintain organized sponsorship pipelines and backend processes</li>
</ul>
Requirements
 
Skills and experience
 
<ul>
<li>Exceptional writing skills with a portfolio (tech or marketing experience preferred)</li>
<li>Ability to closely match the established brand voice of the newsletter</li>
<li>Strong research ability and curiosity for finding unique, relevant stories</li>
<li>Highly organized, with excellent time management and attention to detail</li>
<li>Comfortable communicating with sponsors in a professional yet personable way</li>
<li>Persistent and proactive in following up with sponsors to keep the pipeline strong</li>
<li>Tech-savvy and familiar with developer culture, tools, and trends (or willing to learn)</li>
<li>Ability to own tasks and processes from start to finish and hit deadlines</li>
<li>Self-starter who can balance writing and editorial work with operational tasks</li>
</ul>
Desirable

<li>Experience with newsletters, digital media, tech, or sponsorship sales</li>
<li>Previous work experience in tech, devtools, startups, or creator-driven business</li>
