As a <b>Remote Based Patient Advocate</b>, you play a vital role in guiding uninsured hospital patients through the complex landscape of medical and disability assistance. This<b> remote-based role </b>places you at the heart of patient financial advocacy&mdash;speaking with individuals over the phone to guide them through the process of identifying eligibility and applying for financial assistance. Your involvement and empathy make a real difference during some of life&rsquo;s most vulnerable moments.<br>

<b>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</b></div>
<div></div><ul><li>Screen uninsured hospital patients in an effort to determine if patient is a viable candidate for federal, state, and/or county medical or disability assistance.</li>
<li>Complete the appropriate applications and following through until approved.</li>
<li>Detailed, accurate and timely documentation in both Elevate PFS and hospital systems on all cases worked.</li>
<li>Provide exceptional customer service skills at all times.</li>
<li>Maintain assigned work queue of patient accounts.</li>
<li>Collaborate with hospital staff, case managers, social workers, financial counselors through Teams Meetings, telephone conversations, and written communications.</li>
<li>Answer incoming telephone calls, make out-bound calls, and track all paperwork necessary to submit enrollment and renewal for prospective Medicaid patients.</li>
<li>Maintain structured and timely contact with the applicant and responsible government agency, by phone whenever possible or as structured via the daily work queue.</li>
<li>Assist the applicant with gathering any additional reports or records, meeting appointment dates and times and arrange transportation if warranted.</li>
<li>Conduct in-person community visits as needed to acquire documentation.</li>
<li>As per established protocols, inform the client in a timely manner of all approvals and denials of coverage.</li>
<li>Attend ongoing required training to remain informed about current rules and regulations related to governmental programs, and apply updated knowledge when working with patients and cases.</li>

<div>The Administrative Support Representative is responsible for supporting the administrative and finance departments. Responsibilities include distributing and processing mail, filing, scanning, posting payments, and working reports. Also handles projects given by Supervisor and Manager.</div>

<ul><li>Sort and Distribute Mail/Returned Mail and checks .</li>
<li>Scanning all incoming documentation into Artiva for Admin and Legal Services Team to process and file scanned documentation accordingly.</li>

<li>Approve Statement Counts with Statement Company.</li>

<li>Monitors appropriate work lists to ensure timely insurance verification processing.</li>
<li>Utilizes multiple commuter application, scheduling software, network, drives to schedule multiple exams within multiple modalities and entities across the hospitals system.</li>

<li>Associate degree or 2+ years in patient scheduling, registration, or healthcare billing is preferred</li>
<li>Over one (1) year working in a customer service or client relations type role</li>
<li>Effectively communicate both orally and written, to a variety of individuals utilizing fluent Spanish and English.</li>
<li>Office or hospital environment experience is preferred</li>
<li>High volume call center experience is preferred</li>
