 Job Summary
 
 
 
 Elevate Teaching is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join the Elevate Teacher Residency. This innovative, one-year program is designed for aspiring educators seeking to earn a California teaching credential while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic learning environment. Residents will work and learn alongside an experienced mentor teacher in an Elevate partner school in Oakland, Richmond, or Vallejo, engage in professional learning with a cohort of peers, and contribute to creating an inclusive and engaging classroom culture committed to student success.
 
 
 
 Responsibilities:
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Work and learn alongside a mentor teacher at an Elevate partner school, including co-planning and co-teaching lessons that support diverse learning styles.
 </li>
 <li>
 Support individual students, small groups, and whole classes to provide differentiated instruction and create a positive learning environment.
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborate closely with mentor teachers and school staff to assess student progress and implement effective interventions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Participate in ongoing professional development with a cohort of peers.
 </li>
 <li>
 Engage with families and the community to foster strong relationships that support student success.
 </li>
 <li>
 Lead teach when the mentor teacher is out of the classroom for monthly trainings.
 </li>
 <li>
 Substitutes teach in other classrooms at the school (depending on school placement).
 
 
 </li>

 Credentials Offered:

 Multiple Subject (Elementary): TK-5
 </li>
 <li>
 Single Subject (Middle/High School): Mathematics, Science, Social Science, ELA, Spanish, PE
 </li>
 <li>
 Education Specialist (Mild/Moderate)
 </li>
 <li>
 Bilingual Authorization
 
 
 </li>

 Desired Qualifications:
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with educators and students.
 </li>
 <li>
 Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
 </li>
 <li>
 Willingness to engage in continuous professional learning throughout the residency year.
 </li>
 <li>
 A minimum of 1 year of experience in a classroom setting or educational program preferred but not required.

 Subject Matter Competency Requirement met via CSET, or relevant coursework

 Authorization to work in the U.S.

 TB clearance and fingerprint clearance
 </li>
