Elma Electronic is seeking a motivated and technically curious Sales Application Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is more than just a job&mdash;it's a launchpad for your career through our immersive 36-month Sales Application Engineer Development Program (SAEDP). This is an onsite role in our Lawrenceville, GA location.
What You&rsquo;ll Do
As a Sales Application Engineer, you&rsquo;ll be the technical backbone of our sales team, working closely with Regional Sales Managers and Embedded Computing Architects to:
<ul><li>Provide pre- and post-sales technical support to customers</li>
<li>Evaluate RFQs and recommend solutions based on Elma&rsquo;s product portfolio</li>
<li>Collaborate with engineering to translate customer needs into actionable designs</li>
<li>Prepare cost proposals, system configuration documents, and technical deliverables</li>
<li>Maintain and communicate detailed customer requirements</li>
<li>Travel to customer sites as needed to support projects and build relationships</li>
</ul>
About the SAEDP Rotational Program
This structured, 3-year program is designed to build your technical depth, customer insight, and business acumen. You&rsquo;ll rotate through four core functions, each lasting ~9 months:
<div><ul><li>Sales &amp; Business Development &ndash; Engage with customers, support proposals, and master CRM tools</li></ul>
<ul><li>Program Management Office (PMO) &ndash; Track DoD program execution and contract compliance</li></ul>
<ul><li>Embedded Systems Architecture &amp; Applications &ndash; Collaborate on mission system designs</li></ul>
<ul><li>Engineering &ndash; Product Development &amp; Testing &ndash; Support rugged embedded system design and validation</li></ul>
</div>
You&rsquo;ll also receive mentorship, support for a master&rsquo;s degree, and opportunities for certifications like PMP or CMII.
What You Bring
<ul><li>AS/BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)</li>
<li>Strong communication and customer service skills</li>
<li>Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel); CAD or 3D modeling experience is a plus</li>
<li>Exposure to electronics, embedded systems, or high-tech manufacturing</li>
<li>Organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple projects</li>
</ul>
Bonus points for experience with:
<ul><li>Single Board Computers, Ethernet switches, storage, and software integration</li>
<li>Real-time OS (Linux, VxWorks, Windows Server/XP)</li>
<li>Programming in C/C++ or scripting languages</li>
<li>Contract review and technical documentation</li>
</ul>
Education:
<ul><li>An AS/BS in a technical field (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent experience is required.</li>
<li>A strong technical background is preferred, and familiarity with ELMA products is a plus.</li>
