 The purpose of this position is to provide technical assistance and supportive patient care to meet the needs of individual patients throughout assigned areas.
 <br/>
 <br/>
 <ul>
  <li>
   Collect, report, and document clinical data. Take vital signs, height and weight, intake and output, pulse oximetry, and collect specimens
  </li>
  <li>
   Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as COLA and CLIA regulations
  </li>
  <li>
   Assist with patient activities and care as assigned by the charge nurse/designee as indicated by the patient&rsquo;s plan of care
  </li>
  <li>
   Provide for superficial wound care
  </li>
  <li>
   Provide for patient safety related to age and condition
  </li>
  <li>
   Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information and records at all times
  </li>
  <li>
   Provide and maintain a clean, safe environment and perform and/or assist others to perform proper aseptic technique, isolation procedures, and infection control measures
  </li>
  <li>
   Assist with the admission, transfer, and discharge of the patient
  </li>
  <li>
   Prepare patients and chaperone during examinations/procedures or assists with other patient treatments
  </li>
  <li>
   Maintain patient care areas with appropriate supplies
  </li>
  <li>
   Assist with patient restraints and maintain precautions; collect, report and document data related to patient needs/emergencies and unusual patient and family behavior
  </li>
  <li>
   Travel to all facility locations as required
  </li>
  <li>
   Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required
  </li>
  <li>
   Perform additional duties as assigned
  </li>

  <li>
   High School Diploma or GED, required and completion of one of the following
  </li>
  <ul>
   <li>
    Completion of Medical Corpsman program and one year of applicable experience (OR)
   </li>
   <li>
    Completion of EMT-P (Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic), AEMT (Advanced-EMT), Licensed Paramedic (LP) course/program and one year of applicable experience (OR)
   </li>
   <li>
    Completion of EMT-B (Emergency Medical Technician-Basic) and 1+ years of emergency room experience as an ER Technician or hospital equivalent experience [Oklahoma, North TX, Wisconsin &amp; Pennsylvania markets only] (OR)
   </li>
   <li>
    Completion of the first year of education and current enrollment in an accredited School of Nursing and one year of applicable experience (OR)
   </li>
   <li>
    2+ years of emergency room experience as an ER Technician (OR)
   </li>
   <li>
    3+ years as a CNA with relevant hospital experience (Wisconsin market only)
   </li>
   <li>
    3+ years as a Certified Anesthesia Tech/OR Tech experience (Wisconsin market only)
   </li>
  </ul>
  <li>
   Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, required
  </li>
  <li>
   Current ACLS/ALS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required in most markets.
  </li>
  <ul>
   <li>
    Exceptions where it is strongly preferred include Pittsburgh, Oklahoma, El Paso, DFW, and Central PA (WellSpan Hospitals)
   </li>
   <li>
    Wisconsin (required only for EMT-P roles).
   </li>
  </ul>
  <li>
   Current PALS certifications through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, strongly preferred
  </li>
  <li>
   Experience with IV start, phlebotomy, and initiation of EKG, strongly preferred
  </li>
  <li>
   For the Las Vegas market only, one of the following is required
  </li>
  <ul>
   <li>
    Active Paramedic (EMT-P) license, maintained throughout employment (OR)
   </li>
   <li>
    Active Advanced EMT (A-EMT) license, maintained throughout employment (OR)
   </li>
   <li>
    Completion of an IV certification course (one-time requirement) AND one of the following
   </li>
   <ul>
    <li>
     Active phlebotomy license, maintained throughout employment (OR)
    </li>
    <li>
     Lab Assistant certification, maintained throughout employment
    </li>
   </ul>
  </ul>
  <li>
   Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication
  </li>
  <li>
   Pennsylvania Candidates Act 33 (Child Abuse History Clearance), &amp; Act 73 (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance) completed within the last 5 years, or must be obtained prior to start date.

Emergency Room Technician (PRN DAYS)

 The purpose of this position is to review medical records documentation to select and sequence the appropriate ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes, verify the correct CPT-4/HCPCS procedure codes are attached and to capture charges for laboratory, radiology, supplies and medical procedures within the following types of records: Emergency Facilities, Inpatient, Observation and Ancillary services.

 **Basic Qualifications**
 <br/>
 <br/>
 <ul>
  <li>
   High School Diploma or GED, required
  </li>
  <li>
   CPC, CPC-H, CIC, COS or CCS, or other coding certification, preferred, OR RHIA or RHIT certification with 3+ years of experience, required
  </li>
  <li>
   3+ years experience coding using ICD-10-CM, HCPCS and CPT codes, required
  </li>
  <li>
   Experience coding emergency or hospital ancillary services, preferred
  </li>
  <li>
   Expertise in pathophysiology, anatomy, medical terminology, coding systems, techniques and procedures, preferred
  </li>
  <li>
   Proficiency using Microsoft Office Tools (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook), required
  </li>
  <li>
   Proficiency with patient accounting systems, preferred
  </li>
  <li>
   Experience using Stockell InsightCS patient accounting system, EPIC Community Connect, Cerner and/or PICIS EMR, preferred
  </li>
  <li>
   Experience and knowledge calculating and applying IV Infusion and Injection codes, preferred
  </li>
  <li>
   Knowledge of all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) guidelines and regulations, required
  </li>
  <li>
   ICD 10 Training/Education
  </li>
  <li>
   Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication

 **Essential Job Functions**
