<div>ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE ENGINEER
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Environmental Compliance Engineer to ensure our operations comply with environmental regulations at the local, state, and federal levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of environmental legislation, permitting processes, and sustainability best practices, and will play a key role in maintaining our environmental management systems.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:<ul><li>
Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., EPA, OSHA, NFPA, local/state environmental agencies).</li><li>
Further develop and maintain the Hazardous Waste Program, HAZCOM Program, and Hazardous Materials Business Plan.</li><li>
Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments of facilities and processes.</li><li>
Obtain, renew, and maintain environmental permits (air, water, waste, etc.).</li><li>
Develop, implement, and annually review any environmental programs and policies.</li><li>
Develop, implement, and improve environmental management systems.</li><li>
Prepare and submit compliance reports, documentation, and data to regulatory agencies as required.</li><li>
Investigate environmental incidents or non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.</li><li>
Stay current on environmental legislation and policy changes and advise stakeholders accordingly.</li><li>
Provide training and technical support to staff regarding environmental practices and procedures.</li></ul>
Required Qualifications and Skills:<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.</li><li>
2&ndash;5 years of experience in environmental compliance, permitting, or EHS roles.</li><li>
Experience creating and implementing effective and compliant environmental programs.</li><li>
Experience in managing hazardous materials and wastes according to applicable federal, state, and local codes.</li><li>
Knowledge of applicable environmental regulations and permitting processes.</li><li>
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.</li><li>
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.</li></ul>
Desired Qualifications and Skills:<ul><li>
Professional certification (e.g., CSP, CHMM, CESM, etc).</li><li>
Experience with ISO 14001 or other environmental management systems.</li><li>
Experience in manufacturing environments.</li><li>
Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality standards.</li></ul>
