Overview:
<div>
The IS Mechanical Designer I will design mechanical systems, components, or assemblies using engineering principles.</div>
Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Works closely with project managers, engineers and contractors to create unique high-level concepts and designs for all assigned projects.</li><li>
Works closely with the team to ensure the successful execution of goals of all assigned projects.</li><li>
Conducts field surveys to identify existing equipment types and system capabilities.</li><li>
Produces design documents including drawings, system flow diagrams and architecture, wiring diagrams, construction details, and equipment scheduling.</li><li>
Delivers concepts and designs according to strict project deadlines.</li><li>
Contributes to all areas of the creative process and department.</li><li>
Performs work under direct supervision.</li><li>
Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.</li><li>
Assist with the development of technical reports or related documents.</li><li>
Other duties as assigned or required.</li></ul>
Qualifications:
<h4 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications</b></h4><ul><li>
Associate degree in HVAC Technology, Building Systems Engineering, Construction Management, or related field</li><li>
1-2 years' experience with building construction, especially mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or automatic temperature controls.</li><li>
Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT</li><li>
Strong technical skills</li><li>
Effective oral and written communications skills</li><li>
Vision and Creativity</li><li>
Ability to meet deadlines</li><li>
Planning skills</li><li>
Possesses beginning to working knowledge of the subject matter.</li><li>
Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>
Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.</li></ul><h4 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications</b></h4><ul><li>
Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree</li><li>
Building Automation System design and sequence writing experience - Preferred systems include Siemens, JCI, Honeywell, Trane, Struxureware, and Tridium</li><li>
HVAC Design and Commissioning experience - Preferred systems include Chilled Water, Heating Water, Condenser Water, and Steam</li><li>
Higher Education and Healthcare design experience</li></ul><h4 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Travel Requirements</b></h4><ul><li>
10-25% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.</li></ul><h4 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Physical Activities</b></h4><ul><li>
Climbing stairs.</li><li>
Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods</li><li>
Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers</li><li>
Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another</li><li>
