Position Summary:
The People &amp; Culture Generalist is responsible for the daily functions of the People &amp; Culture (P&amp;C) department including hiring and interviewing, administering pay, benefits, and leave, ensuring compliance with company policies and practices, and promoting employee satisfaction and engagement.
Essential Functions &amp; Additional Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with department leaders to understand skills and competencies required for openings</li><li>
Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications</li><li>
Plans and supports company-wide information meetings such as open enrollment, new employee onboarding, and retirement education</li><li>
Administers employee recognition programs and leads the Employee Engagement Committee in planning activities and events for the company including charitable contribution programs</li><li>
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development needs</li><li>
Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information</li><li>
Completes semi-monthly payroll processing ensuring proper handling of new hires, salary changes, bonus/commission payments, deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions</li><li>
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and managers, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate party</li><li>
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance</li><li>
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law</li></ul>
Requirements:

Required Education and Experience:<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required</li><li>
2-4 years of human resource management experience preferred with at least 1 year of payroll processing experience</li><li>
SHRM-CP or PHR certification a plus</li></ul>
Physical Requirements:<ul><li>
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer</li><li>
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times</li></ul>
Position Type//Expected hours of Work:<ul><li>
Full Time / 40 hours per week</li></ul>
Location:<ul><li>
This is a remote role, with preference for Orlando, FL-area candidates to support onsite office and clerical needs.</li></ul>
