Position Summary:
The Psychiatrist will perform psychiatric evaluations on a scheduled and emergency basis, develop and implement treatment plans, and work with the treatment team to optimize care for clients. This site is a Children/Youth Outpatient provider. *Open to both part-time or full-time contract. 


Core Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul><li>
Perform intakes and diagnostic interviews on a scheduled and emergency basis.</li><li>
Make expert diagnosis, interpretation, recommendation in providing consultation to treatment team.</li><li>
Participate in clinical staff diagnosis/evaluation of clients in the Outpatient Program.</li><li>
Provide medical psychiatric treatment of clients.</li><li>
Write prescriptions and monitor medication effectiveness and side effects.</li><li>
Be available for consultation and providing information to agencies, which are coordinating their work with that of the clinics.</li><li>
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrative, medical and non-medical mental health staff, clients and the general public.</li><li>
Assure that the clients admitted to clinics require the level of care in which the different programs offer.</li><li>
Serve on the Utilization Review Committee as requested.</li><li>
Consult as necessary with the Director of Psychiatric Services on unusual, complex or serious cases.</li><li>
Meet with the Director of Psychiatric Services on a regular basis.</li><li>
Comply with SD/MC standards for chart documentation.</li><li>
Participate in general staff meeting as requested.</li><li>
Other duties as assigned.</li><li>
Comply with all Company policies and procedures as applicable.</li></ul>
Minimum Education and Experience Preferred:
<ul><li>
Master&rsquo;s degree or above in a related field.</li><li>
Completion of an approved three (3) year psychiatric residency training program.</li><li>
Valid DEA registration.</li><li>
Experience working with mental health consumers.</li></ul> 


Licenses/Certifications:
<ul><li>
Eligibility for examination and certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.</li><li>
Valid physician and surgeon license to practice medicine in the State of California.</li><li>
Eligible to bill for Medicare and Medi-Cal reimbursable services.</li><li>
Valid California driver&rsquo;s license, current automobile insurance, and eligibility to drive for the Company preferred.</li></ul> 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
<ul><li>
The principles of methods of psychiatry and general medicine, individual, family and group psychotherapy.</li><li>
The use of medications in psychiatric and related conditions.</li><li>
Current developments in the field of psychiatry, mental health, alcohol and drug services organizations and procedures.</li><li>
The principles and applications of psychiatric social work, clinical psychology, alcohol and drug treatment and various rehabilitation therapies.</li><li>
Ability to perform in a positive, courteous, flexible and adaptive manner.</li><li>
Able to exercise independent judgment and initiative.</li><li>
Computer literate and experienced with computer programs such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.</li><li>
Experience using Exym and/or an electronic medical health record is a plus.</li><li>
Must be able clearly to communicate, both orally and in writing.</li><li>
Possess excellent organizational skills, including, but not limited to, the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks.</li><li>
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.</li></ul> 


Physical Requirements:

See well enough (with or without corrected vision) to read fine print, hand-written materials, and a computer screen.</li><li>
Speak and hear well enough (with or without assistive device) to converse in person and by telephone.</li><li>
Finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms, including ability to use a computer keyboard.</li><li>
Have the mobility (with or without assistive device) to stand, sit, crouch, and move from one work area to another.</li><li>
Have the strength to lift, carry or push office equipment and supplies used in normal job functions up to 20 lbs.</li><li>
