About the role and what you'll be doing:

As a Senior Hardware Tech at Ensono, you will serve as a technical leader and escalation point for complex hardware operations within mission-critical data center environments. Building on advanced expertise in raised-floor data center operations, you will lead server implementation and decommissioning projects, troubleshoot complex hardware failures, and mentor junior technicians in best practices. You'll take ownership of intricate rack and stack operations, manage multi-site data center infrastructure remotely, and ensure seamless coordination with vendor partners and remote support teams. Your deep knowledge of legacy and modern technologies&mdash;from mainframe systems to current network infrastructure&mdash;combined with your ability to analyze root causes and implement preventative measures, will directly safeguard the reliability of our clients' technology operations and enable them to Do Great Things. 


Key responsibilities include:
<ul><li>Lead complex hardware installation, troubleshooting, and repair activities for servers, network devices, and mainframe equipment in secure, raised-floor data center environments</li></ul>
<ul><li>Serve as technical escalation point for hardware failures and unique situations requiring advanced troubleshooting expertise</li></ul>
<ul><li>Design and update raised floor plans and cabinet layouts to optimize power, cooling, and connectivity for business growth</li></ul>
<ul><li>Manage remote data center operations through customer portals and coordinate effectively with local hands-and-feet support teams</li></ul>
<ul><li>Mentor and provide guidance to associate-level hardware technicians on proper installation techniques, troubleshooting methodologies, and industry best practices</li></ul>
<ul><li>Perform root cause analysis on recurring hardware issues and implement preventative measures to reduce future problems</li></ul>
<ul><li>Maintain comprehensive documentation of hardware configurations, connectivity, and problem resolution in ticketing systems</li></ul>
<ul><li>Lead 3rd party vendor activities and ensure SLA compliance for hardware maintenance</li></ul>
<ul><li>Verify and validate power connections, status lights, cable installations, and labeling standards across all data center equipment</li></ul>
<ul><li>Execute seamless shift handoffs by transferring ownership of ongoing projects, requests, and incidents through detailed verbal and written documentation</li></ul>
<ul><li>Travel to local data centers to provide on-site technical support and leadership when needed</li></ul>
<ul><li>Apply proficient working knowledge of raised floor management, fiber and copper cabling, power and cooling specifications, and redundant infrastructure systems</li></ul>
<ul><li>Support mainframe (AS/400, S/390), UNIX, Windows, and modern cloud infrastructure installations and operations</li></ul>

What You Will Need:
<ul><li>5+ years of data center hardware experience with demonstrated technical leadership</li></ul>
<ul><li>Advanced knowledge of cable installation, fiber and copper technologies, and structured cabling standards</li></ul>
<ul><li>Extensive hands-on experience with computer hardware internals, server components, and network equipment</li></ul>
<ul><li>Proficiency with mainframe installations and terminology (AS/400, S/390)</li></ul>
<ul><li>Proven ability to troubleshoot complex hardware failures and perform root cause analysis</li></ul>
<ul><li>Expert understanding of raised floor management in medium to large-scale data center environments</li></ul>
<ul><li>Knowledge of industry best practices for data center operations, including redundant power systems, environmental controls, and security systems</li></ul>
<ul><li>Strong proficiency in computer equipment specifications for power and cooling needs</li></ul>
<ul><li>Excellent communication skills with ability to mentor junior staff and coordinate with vendors</li></ul>
<ul><li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and lead technical projects</li></ul>
<ul><li>Physical ability to lift 50lbs and work in raised-floor environments</li></ul>
<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent required</li></ul> 


Bonus Qualifications
<ul><li>Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field</li></ul>
<ul><li>A+, Network+, Server+, or CCNA certifications</li></ul>
<ul><li>Experience with Production control activities, Network Operations Center (NOC), or Service Desk operations</li></ul>
<ul><li>Working knowledge of multiple operating systems including UNIX, Linux, Windows Server, and legacy mainframe platforms</li></ul>
<ul><li>Experience managing remote data centers and coordinating distributed support teams</li></ul>

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this role is $55,000 to $86,000 annually based on a full-time schedule. In addition to base salary, other compensation programs, depending on eligibility, include an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, and an equity grant under our Associate Equity Appreciation Program.

About the role and what you will be doing:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, friendly, Agile-based, team working on some of the hottest public cloud technologies.
The Public Cloud Product Engineering team works closely with our Product Management team to bring to life standard services and solutions that can be repeatedly sold to multiple managed service customers.
Using your strong background in automation, engineering, and best practice you will also play a major role in defining and evolving our public cloud standards, implementing new tools, onboarding new AWS and GCP services, and act as an SME supporting other teams.
The successful candidate will be someone who can demonstrate a genuine desire and passion for public cloud; automation; keeping it simple, supportable, and scalable; with proven ability to deliver pragmatic workable solutions on time.
Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Act as the lead engineer on Product Engineering epics and stories.</li>
<li>Develop (&ldquo;operationalize&rdquo;) new repeatable Ensono public cloud services and solutions.</li>
<li>Define and evolve public cloud technical standards to ensure repeatability, supportability, scalability, and security.</li>
<li>Make recommendations on technical stack including research, assessments, bake-offs, and proof of concepts.</li>
<li>Assess and onboard new AWS and GCP services in line with the Product roadmap.</li>
<li>Drive the deployment of automated infrastructure and systems using IAC, config management and scripting.</li>
<li>Provide subject matter expertise and advice to pre-sales architects on our technical standards.</li>
<li>Act as a final line of escalation and assistance for the cloud operations team for major problems.</li>
<li>Proactively keep up to date on public cloud services and related technology.</li>
</ul>Desired Skills and Experience
<ul><li>8+ years&rsquo; experience in supporting highly customer-focused mission critical environments (e.g., high profile web or enterprise infrastructure) essential.</li>
<li>5+ years&rsquo; experience of architecting, engineering, or supporting public cloud solutions on AWS or GCP.</li>
<li>Sound knowledge of AWS or GCP best practice, security considerations, and architectural design patterns.</li>
<li>Experience of implementing and supporting public-cloud based workloads and services.</li>
<li>Hold multiple current AWS or Google Cloud Certifications (or be able to demonstrate equivalent level of knowledge).</li>
<li>Experience of building solutions using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Cloud formation)</li>
<li>Experience of config management systems (e.g., Ansible).</li>
<li>Excellent Linux O/S knowledge and experience (RHCE or equivalent level of knowledge).</li>
<li>Scripting ability in Python, Perl, or Bash.</li>
<li>Experience of using Git for version control.</li>
<li>Experience of the AWS or GCP CLI and scripting against it.</li>
<li>Experience of working with, designing, deploying, or supporting containerized environments (ECS/EKS/Kubernetes/Docker) is useful, but not essential.</li>
<li>Experience of Jenkins or other CI/CD pipeline technology useful.</li>
<li>Able to leverage AI tools to improve productivity and quality (e.g. Copilot/Claude/Kiro)</li>
<li>Good knowledge of TCP/IP.</li>
<li>A degree in a computing-related discipline preferred or equivalent ability and knowledge.</li>
<li>Experience working in ITIL and Agile environments beneficial.</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li>

Required Skills &amp; Qualifications

<li>Core IGA Concepts: Strong understanding of Identity Governance and Administration (IGA), including RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) and entitlement management.
