We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical AR/Billing Assistant to join our growing healthcare team. This individual will support the billing department by ensuring accurate claim submission, payment posting, insurance follow-up, and patient account resolution. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of medical billing processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced medical office environment.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Prepare and submit electronic and paper claims to insurance carriers</li><li>Verify insurance eligibility and benefits</li><li>Review claims for accuracy and completeness prior to submission</li><li>Post insurance and patient payments accurately</li><li>Follow up on unpaid or denied claims in a timely manner</li><li>Resolve billing discrepancies and patient account inquiries</li><li>Process refunds and adjustments as needed</li><li>Maintain compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements</li><li>Assist with month-end reporting and reconciliation</li><li>Answer phones</li><li>Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance companies</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Minimum 1&ndash;2 years of medical billing experience required</li><li>Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding</li><li>Familiarity with EHR/Practice Management systems</li><li>Strong understanding of insurance guidelines including Medicare, Medi-Cal, HMO, PPO plans</li><li>Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Experience in a specialty medical practice (e.g., ENT, orthopedics, cardiology, etc.)</li><li>Experience with clearinghouses and electronic claim submission</li><li>Bilingual (Spanish or Arabic) a plus</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
