A DAY IN THE LIFE</div><div></div><div>
Enthalpy Analytical, is part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group, is comprised of 9 laboratories servicing air, water, and soil, testing. Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.</div><div></div><div>
Our Orange, CA facility is currently seeking a Full-Time Laboratory Assistant to join our team.</div><div></div><div>
Compensation: Starting at $17/hr, (DOE)</div><div>
Schedule: Sunday - Thursday 7 - 3:30 pm</div><div></div><div>
As a key member of the laboratory team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:</div><ul><li>
Preparing samples for digestion or extraction as needed (includes but is not limited to: weighing soils, making composites, crushing samples, incremental sampling, product sampling, etc)</li><li>
Perform dish washing and cleaning approximately 80% of shift</li><li>
Perform laboratory maintenance, upkeep, and sample archiving/disposal approximately 20% of shift</li><li>
Preparing reagents as needed</li><li>
Conducting simple water quality assays</li><li>
Data entry</li><li>
Facility housekeeping/maintenance</li><li>
Perform routine repetitive motions such as scrubbing, rinsing, drying, and stacking glassware</li><li>
Responsible for proper disposal of samples according to laboratory protocols</li><li>
Perform calibration verification of laboratory equipment such as thermometers and balances</li><li>
Conduct inventory of laboratory supplies and chemicals</li><li>
Restock laboratory cabinets and storage areas with supplies and chemicals as needed</li><li>
Perform support tasks as needed</li><li>
Comply with Enthalpy&rsquo;s Quality Assurance Program and other policies</li><li>
Comply with Enthalpy&rsquo;s Health and Safety Plan</li><li>
Other duties as assigned by the Group Leader or Lab Director</li></ul><div></div><div>
YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS</div><div></div><div>
To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.</div><ul><li>
High School Diploma</li><li>
Basic laboratory techniques (knowledge of PPE, use of balance, pipetting, glassware handling, etc)</li><li>
Basic Excel skills required</li><li>
Must be comfortable working with strong acids and solvents</li><li>
Excellent communication skills required</li><li>
Detail oriented</li><li>
Must be able to work in a stationary position for entire shift duration</li><li>
Must be able to lift and move up to 25 lbs independently and 50 lbs using assisted lifting equipment</li></ul><div></div><div>
PREFERRED SKILLS</div><ul><li>
Prior Laboratory experience preferred but not required as this is an entry level position</li><li>
Knowledge of analytical method, analytical instruments, general lab practices and lab safety</li><li>
Ability to work independently and in a team</li><li>
Good organizational skills and strong communication skills</li></ul><div></div><div>
