Position Overview

The HR Generalist will play a vital role in supporting our people, processes, and culture. This position serves as a strategic partner to leadership and project teams, ensuring that HR practices align with company goals and foster a positive, high-performing work environment. Oversee key areas such as employee relations, performance support, compliance, onboarding coordination, training facilitation, policy development, benefits administration, and day-to-day HR operations. 


Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Onboarding and termination of employees; ensuring all protocols are followed</li>
<li>
Serve as the conscience of the organization, monitoring morale and empowering the senior leaders to help intervene and take corrective action</li>
<li>
Enforce HR Policies and procedures with your manager, and revise and enhance as necessary</li>
<li>
Performance evaluation</li>
<li>
Disciplinary process</li>
<li>
Benefits administration (includes work with Broker)</li>
<li>
Filing of Worker's Compensation claims</li>
<li>
Compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as contractual obligations (e.g., insurance safety protocols). The list is not comprehensive:</li>

<li>Responding to Unemployment and Department of Labor requests</li>
<li>
OSHA Reporting</li>
<li>
Participate on the Safety Committee; verify all documentation is compliant with laws.</li>
<li>
As we add states, review the laws for new requirements to ensure we set up Rippling correctly</li>
</ul></li>
<li>FLSA compliance</li>
<li>
Proactively alert the team to weather and holiday reminders, birthday and anniversary announcements</li>
<li>
Participate in the purchase of Workers' Compensation and Benefit Coverages.</li>
<li>
Assist in the selection and administration of a 401k program</li>
<li>
Working with the Director of Finance to build a training program for safety and to develop leaders</li>
<li>
Sexual harassment and hostile work environment</li>
<li>
Performance discussions</li>
<li>
Discrimination</li>
<li>
Leadership skills</li>
<li>
Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of our HR programs and benefits</li>
<li>
Payroll for our various companies from our payroll management system (currently, Rippling). As well as maintaining payroll records and owning any payroll-related activities (i.e. WC audit, etc).</li>
<li>
Maintaining application standards, including application completion, BGC, MVR, and if needed, credit report processes and evaluations</li>
<li>
Provide support for recruiting on an as-needed basis.</li>
<li>
Other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>3 years minimum HR Generalist role, managing onboarding, offboarding, employee evaluation, and disciplinary processes</li>
<li>
3 years minimum experience with Department of Labor - unemployment issues and other inquiries</li>
<li>
3 years minimum recruiting experience, driving the top of funnel through offer letter; experience with Construction roles is highly desirable</li>
<li>
Understands the legal and tax aspects of benefit withholdings for 401k and insurance</li>
<li>
Must demonstrate utilization of KPI&rsquo;s to monitor hiring and other work processes (days open, average # resumes required, etc)</li>
<li>
Comfortable with software in general and expert with Google Docs/Sheets specifically</li>
<li>
Proven outstanding communication, follow-up, and organizational skills</li>
<li>
Excellent and consistent attention to detail</li>
<li>
Ability to effectively adjust communications to the audience - from Executive to Employee</li>
<li>
English as a primary language</li>
<li>
Bilingual Spanish is a plus</li>
<li>
Experience designing and implementing benefit programs a plus</li>
<li>
Familiarity with Rippling, UHC, Guardian, or Guideline 401(k) a plus</li>
</ul>
Compensation:
<ul>
<li>Annualized wages between $70,000 and $90,000, depending on experience</li>
<li>
The company pays 100% of medical, dental, and vision for the employee and dependents</li>
<li>
13 paid holidays, one floating holiday per year</li>
<li>
15 days of Paid Time Off per year; PTO is accrued at a rate of 4.62 hours per biweekly pay period</li>
