 Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor, the
 
 Production
 
 
 Assembler
 
 is responsible for operating and maintaining assembly equipment in a safe and efficient manner to achieve the quality and production standards of the company.
 
 
 Read, interpret and understand blueprints and welding symbols to complete job assignments.
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Use hand tools, clamps and grinders to perform job tasks.
 </li>
 <li>
 Adhere to all safety, health and environmental procedures, policies and practices.
 </li>
 <li>
 Any other duties that fall within the employee&rsquo;s capabilities.
 </li>
 <li>
 Frequent lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling can be expected.
 </li>
 <li>
 Long periods of sitting and walking can also be expected in this position.
 </li>
 <li>
 Use of basic tools and equipment.
 </li>
 <li>
 Occasional exposure to typical manufacturing areas may be required and will require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection.

 <li>
 The work environment will include their own workstation or cubicle space equipped with a telephone, headset and computer as required for the job.
 </li>

 Team member must be mobile enough to navigate the manufacturing shop floor safely including walking and standing for up to four hours at a time.

 Minimum of 3 years&rsquo; experience in heavy duty machining/ manufacturing environment.

 Ability to read tape measure and blueprints.

 Demonstrated skill level of wire feed (MIG) welding.

 Ability to read and understand work order routings and instructions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to layout parts using weld fixtures.
 </li>
 <li>
 Excellent critical thinking, communication, problem solving skills and interpersonal skills.

 The Assembler Welder performs all required welding and assigned station assembly operations on drilling rigs following standard and quality assurance methods and within company safety guidelines.
 
 
 
 Principal Responsibilities
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Weld components using blueprints
 </li>
 <li>
 Plan and lay out work from blueprints, drawings, or other written specifications
 </li>
 <li>
 Install and connect hydraulic controls, pumps, rams, and other system elements
 </li>
 <li>
 Mount, hook-up and connect engines, gear boxes, axles and other power components and units
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain the cleanliness of the assembly area
 </li>
 <li>
 Detect and report defective materials, faulty operation, and unusual conditions to immediate Supervisor
 </li>
 <li>
 Select materials and processes to be applied
 </li>
 <li>
 Set up and adjust equipment
 </li>
 <li>
 Weld, in vertical, horizontal, flat, and overhead positions to make items of various sizes and shapes
 </li>
 <li>
 Brazes, flame-cuts, beads, heat treats, pressure, and tack welds
 </li>
 <li>
 Use hand and power tools of the welding trade
 </li>
 <li>
 When necessary, use templates in measuring, marking, scribing, and cutting
 </li>
 <li>
 Follow prescribed safety regulations / guidelines
 </li>

 Maintain work related records and reports
