GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the Center Manager, the Center Support plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the early childhood center. This position helps create a warm, safe, and nurturing environment where children can thrive socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively. The role includes classroom support, kitchen and janitorial duties (as applicable), and collaboration with staff and families to ensure a high-quality learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Support<ul><li>
Assist in classrooms as needed, following the day&rsquo;s planned activities.</li><li>
Support the implementation of developmentally appropriate, culturally responsive learning experiences.</li><li>
Foster a positive, nurturing environment using positive guidance techniques.</li><li>
Build supportive relationships with children to encourage social and emotional growth.</li><li>
Maintain compliance with all federal, state, local, and accreditation standards.</li><li>
Follow health and safety procedures, including medication handling and emergency protocols.</li><li>
Maintain hygiene and sanitation standards and assist with center upkeep.</li><li>
Communicate effectively with families and encourage parent involvement.</li><li>
Participate in family-style meals.</li></ul>
Kitchen Support?(If applicable)<ul><li>
Prepare and deliver meals and snacks to classrooms on time.</li><li>
Maintain temperature logs and food safety standards.</li><li>
Manage inventory of food, formula, and paper products.</li><li>
Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and surfaces daily.</li><li>
Submit vendor delivery slips and dispose of waste properly.</li></ul>
Janitorial Support?(If applicable)<ul><li>
Clean floors, bathrooms, and public areas regularly.</li><li>
Monitor building safety and report maintenance needs.</li><li>
Maintain supply inventory and ensure safe storage of cleaning materials.</li><li>
Operate and maintain janitorial equipment safely.</li><li>
Ensure proper use and labeling of cleaning chemicals.</li></ul>

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>
High School Diploma or GED required.</li></ul>
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:<ul><li>
Demonstrate competency to provide effective and nurturing teacher-child interactions, plan and implement learning experiences that ensure effective curriculum implementation and use of assessment and promote children&rsquo;s progress across the standards described in the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework: Ages Birth to Five and applicable state early learning and development standards, including for children with disabilities and dual language learners, as appropriate.</li><li>
Ability to provide a supportive and caring environment for children</li><li>
Ability to exercise control and maintain appropriate classroom discipline</li><li>
Ability and willingness to implement the approved curriculum</li><li>
Ability to exercise good judgment and emotional maturity</li><li>
Ability to build and establish collaborative relationships</li><li>

CERTIFICATIONS:<ul><li>
Complete TB screening &amp; physical before having direct contact with children. Renew every 2 years.</li><li>
Current First Aid and Pediatric Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training.</li><li>
At least 10 hours of state-approved training completed within the first 90 days of employment.</li><li>
25 hours of annual training (January&ndash;December) in topics related to child development, health and safety, curriculum, and program operations.</li><li>
Training must be Georgia state-approved and documented in the staff member&rsquo;s personnel file.</li></ul>
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:<ul><li>
Indoor classroom and outdoor playground settings</li><li>
Tolerance for noise and high activity levels</li></ul>
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:<ul><li>
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds as needed to assist children or move classroom materials.</li><li>
Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, and sitting on the floor to engage with children at their level.</li><li>
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the day, both indoors and outdoors.</li><li>
Capacity to respond quickly and physically in emergency situations.</li><li>

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Assistant Center Manager supports the Center Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the early childhood center. This role ensures compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, Georgia Bright from the Start (DECAL) regulations, and ECS4Kids policies. The Assistant Center Manager plays a key role in maintaining high-quality learning environments, supporting staff, and fostering strong relationships with families and the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Support &amp; Staff Coordination<ul><li>
Assist in managing daily center operations, ensuring adherence to licensing, health, and safety standards.</li><li>
Support staff scheduling, substitute coordination, and coverage planning.</li><li>
Maintain accurate and compliant staff files, including credentials, training hours, and screenings.</li><li>
Track inventory and coordinate purchases for food service, classroom, and health supplies.</li><li>
Manage petty cash and complete monthly reconciliation reports.</li></ul>
Educational Quality &amp; Classroom Support<ul><li>
Support teachers in curriculum implementation, child observations, and data analysis.</li><li>
Ensure classrooms meet standards for high-quality learning environments.</li><li>
Model positive child guidance techniques and assist with classroom support as needed.</li><li>
Maintain systems for classroom records, assessments, and attendance tracking.</li></ul>
Family Engagement &amp; Communication<ul><li>
Greet and assist families and visitors with professionalism and warmth.</li><li>
Collaborate with the Center Manager and Family Advocate to prepare and distribute monthly newsletters.</li><li>
Assist in handling parent concerns with a solution-oriented approach and timely documentation.</li><li>
Maintain an informative and up-to-date Parent Board.</li></ul>
Compliance &amp; Documentation<ul><li>
Ensure ongoing compliance with licensing regulations, ECS4Kids policies, and accreditation standards.</li><li>
Coordinate and maintain USDA food program records.</li><li>
Complete administrative tasks such as health and safety checklists, food forms, and documentation logs.</li><li>
Support in-kind contribution tracking and reporting.</li></ul>
Professional Development &amp; Collaboration<ul><li>
Assist in planning and conducting monthly staff meetings and training for new staff.</li><li>
Participate in professional development and pursue ongoing education goals.</li><li>

Associate&rsquo;s degree preferred; 1&ndash;3 years of related administrative experience required.</li></ul>
