</div><div><div><div>The Position</div>
<ul><li>Development of software tools for analysis of measurement data from the photon diagnostic devices.</li>
<li>Support data analysis with the objective of characterizing the X-ray beam and calculate SASE spectral information based on the acquired data.</li>
<li>Support group with hardware and cable assembly.</li>
<li>Active participation in the commissioning and beamtimes with the photon diagnostics group.</li>
<li>Supporting various development activities in the photon diagnostics lab.</li>
</ul></div><div><div>Requirements</div>
<ul><li>Enrolled in a Bachelor or Master Degree program in physics, computer science, engineering or similar discipline.</li>
<li>Capable of writing computer programs for data processing and analysis. Experience in Python language.</li>
<li>Fluent in spoken and written English. German language is not required.</li>
<li>Strong communication skills and interest in working in a collaborative environment</li>
<li>Knowledge about analogue electronics and/or micro-controller programming would be an asset.</li>
<li>Availability to work from European XFEL's offices for most of the working hours.</li>

<ul><li>Manage, maintain, support, and upgrade facility applications and collaboration platforms</li>
<li>Ensure stable and reliable operation of services, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution</li>
</ul><b>Engineering and integration:</b>
<ul><li>Analyse requirements and identify appropriate workflows and tools, aligning with infrastructure, operational, and user needs</li>
<li>Integrate applications into operational processes and institutional infrastructure</li>
<li>Design and develop software modules, scripts, and interfaces to enable integration with institutional services</li>
<li>Contribute to testing, documentation, and maintenance of applications and solutions</li>
</ul><b>User support and continuous improvement:</b>
<ul><li>Support users in implementing and maintaining workflows and application processes, including training and knowledge transfer</li>
<li>Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of application modules and integrations</li>
<li>Promote the harmonisation, standardisation, and modernisation of applications and processes</li>

<ul><li>Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience</li>
<li>Solid knowledge of Linux</li>
<li>Experience in planning and implementing upgrades, migrations, patching, and maintenance activities</li>
<li>Good understanding of application integration concepts, APIs, and interoperability</li>
<li>Practical experience with containers, automation tools, and scripting (Python and/or Bash)</li>
<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured and service-oriented approach to work</li>
<li>Good communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to support users and contribute to training and knowledge transfer</li>
<li>Profficiency in English (written and spoken)</li>
</ul><br>
Nice to have:
<ul><li>Experience with Redmine, GitLab, Keycloak, Alfresco, Zulip, Booked, LimeSurvey, or comparable platforms administration</li>
<li>Experience in monitoring, troubleshooting, backup, and recovery of production services</li>
