PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST
 
Location: Onsite - Napa, California
 
Hourly Rate: $24-25 per hour (Based on Experience)
 Employment Type: Full-Time, 8 AM - 5 PM Monday-Friday
 Department: Supply Chain
 Reports To: Supply Chain Manager

General Position Summary: 
PURCHASING: to ensure that items are purchased from specified suppliers and are delivered according to agreed terms and conditions. An important aspect of this role is seeking maximum value for the company.
 
Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Process purchase requisitions and place orders for goods and materials.</li>
<li>Transmits and prioritizes approved purchase orders and supporting documents to suppliers.</li>
<li>Confirm lead times, delivery dates and costs in the system:</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Ensures orders adhere to supplier agreements and contracts.</li>
<li>Ensures lead times of material arrival is compliant to production needs.</li>
<li>Track order acknowledgements.</li>
<li>Communicate shortage and backlog reports to key stakeholders.</li>
<li>Provide visibility of potential interruptions to internal departments.</li>
<li>Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and favorable terms.</li>
<li>Based on purchasing budgets, track inventory levels and ensure a smooth supply chain to prevent stockouts or overstocking.</li>
<li>Manage internal price lists, ensuring all prices are up to date and available at use of the department.</li>
<li>Communicate promptly on any price changes, working with managers to keep costs down.</li>
<li>Help with research and source suppliers.</li>
<li>Communicates with suppliers on shipment organization of incoming materials.</li>
<li>Review planned orders managing arrival dates of material.</li>
<li>Work closely with internal departments, such as production, to understand their needs and align procurement efforts.</li>
<li>Interface with Planning & Customer Service teams to ensure all material is purchased to produce customer requirements.</li>
<li>Monitor the press schedule to ensure material is available ensuring highest productivity of each machine.</li>
</ul>
Education and/or Experience: 
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li>
<li>Any combination of education, training and/or experience equivalent to the completion of a bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field, and increasingly responsible experience in purchasing and budgeting is a plus.</li>
</ul>

<li>Ability to analyze pricing structures, conduct financial planning, and make data-driven purchasing decisions.</li>
<li>A deep understanding of the market, industry trends, and business requirements.</li>
<li>Advanced math skills – applying mathematical theories and techniques to solve practical problems. Collect & analyze data with the aim of solving practical problems within the business.</li>
<li>Advanced reading skills – ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical information and procedures.</li>
<li>Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.</li>
<li>Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.</li>
<li>Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.</li>
<li>Ability to defuse and manage volatile and stressful situations.</li>
<li>Communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with all production personnel.</li>
<li>Advanced computer skills.</li>
</ul>
Physical Requirements: 
<ul>
<li>Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.</li>
<li>Must have the ability to walk short distances.</li>
<li>Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time.</li>
</ul>
