We are launching a new chapter and need a digital presence that matches the energy, precision, and passion of the sport we serve.The RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Social Media Expert and Content Creator for a specialized 90-day contract. Your mission is to build our social media foundation, establish our brand's visual storytelling, weekly series, and build out organic marketing content and schedule to fuel our engine. Most importantly, you will develop the strategic playbook for our entry level employee to take over at end your contract period.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Account Setup &amp; Strategy: Launch and fully optimize Powerplay&rsquo;s business accounts across key platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts.), ensuring brand consistency and proper profile configurations, using Hootsuite or alike platforms.</li><li>Video Content Creation: Conceptualize, shoot, and edit high-quality short-form video content that highlights our hockey coaching video platform, on-ice video footage, technical features, and community stories.</li><li>Storytelling &amp; Organic Marketing: Develop a compelling organic content strategy that drives engagement, builds community trust, and attracts players and families without relying solely on paid ads.</li><li>Social SEO and AI account optimization: Implement best practices for social search engine optimization including all AI platform search results, utilizing targeted keywords, hashtags, and metadata so our content is easily discoverable by our target audience.</li><li>Training &amp; Handoff: Create a comprehensive &quot;social media playbook&quot; and spend ⅓ your contract time directly training our new in-house social media employee on daily workflows, video creation techniques, and community management.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Proven track record of building and scaling business social media accounts from zero.</li><li>Exceptional video editing skills, creative ideas with a portfolio of high-performing short-form content.</li><li>Deep understanding of organic marketing strategies, current social algorithms, and social SEO.</li><li>Strong ability to translate technical or niche concepts into engaging, relatable stories.</li><li>Previous experience consulting, creating processes, schedules, etc a plus</li><li>A background or strong interest in hockey or sports technology is a major plus.</li></ul>What We Offer<ul><li>The opportunity to shape the foundational voice of an exciting sports tech startup.</li><li>A dynamic, collaborative environment</li><li>Clear objectives and a defined 90-day timeline culminating in a highly impactful handoff.</li></ul>Pay: $25.00 - $85.00 per hourWork Location: In person
