<div>Position Overview
At Really Good Stuff (RGS), we create innovative, engaging educational products that inspire teachers and students alike. As a Production Designer, you'll play a critical role in bringing these products to life-blending creativity with precision.
This role sits at the intersection of conceptual design and production execution, where you'll transform ideas into compelling product artwork while ensuring files are production-ready and meet the highest quality standards. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with product development, purchasing, and vendors to deliver best-in-class educational materials on time and on budget.
Key Responsibilities
ConceptDesign<ul><li>
Translate early-stage product ideas into visually compelling concepts through mood boards and design explorations aligned with RGS product strategy.</li><li>
Create engaging, age-appropriate artwork for educational products spanning PreK through 5th grade.</li><li>
Partner closely with the Product Development team to refine concepts, elevate design quality, and meet timeline and cost objectives.</li><li>
Bring a strong design perspective to ensure final products are both educationally effective and visually impactful.</li></ul>
Art Production<ul><li>
Prepare and pre-flight production files, ensuring all specs, approvals, and technical requirements are met before release.</li><li>
Deliver final, print-ready files to domestic and international vendors, maintaining organized archives of all digital assets.</li><li>
Own the accuracy and integrity of production files, ensuring they reproduce correctly across all formats.</li><li>
Collaborate with Purchasing to support reprints and PO processes, including communicating timelines, updates, and revisions to vendors.</li><li>
Review vendor proofs, providing feedback to ensure quality and consistency.</li><li>
Create and deliver digital product assets for web, catalog, and internal systems.</li><li>
Support the development of instruction guides, including writing, photography, and layout.</li><li>
Follow and continuously improve department SOPs and workflows.</li></ul>
AITechnology (Preferred)
We're looking for someone excited about leveraging modern tools to enhance creativity and efficiency:<ul><li>
Experience using AI-powered features within Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Generative Fill, Firefly, automation tools).</li><li>
Familiarity with tools like ChatGPT to support ideation, content development, and workflow optimization.</li><li>
Experience with monday.com, including automations and AI capabilities to streamline project management.</li><li>
A proactive mindset toward exploring emerging AI technologies to improve processes, reduce manual effort, and drive innovation in design and production.</li></ul>
